Sounds like it's a bit more open and it is an LT firing order (as a subject matter expert pointed out). No supercharge whine and it didn't seem to exit as hard or fast as the ZL1/z28.

The ZL1 and z28 achieved a 172mph and 161mph top speed pass Tiergarten. These prototypes were about 5mph off of the z28. If this is correct and my guys in Germany are pretty good, this indicates there is less than 500hp up front. This is all rule of thumb and the timing and speed collection methods are enthusiast driven.

However, my guys told me there were areas of the track with water and puddles. They would not push the car if the track still held water. The track looked okay on the video but I believe they were there for 3 days.
Wow. That's some pretty specific info. Thanks for sharing it.

The discussion with twin turbos.

A TT VOODOO would be one naaaasty thing.
A TT V8 seems to be the next step. Chevy should come out with a big bore short stroke 5.5L TT V8 for the Camaro. More than likely it will only happen after Ford offers a TT V8 in the Mustang.

That's not going to cut it... In order to compete with a Ford TT 5.0, the LT would need a larger displacement.

Rumor suggest a TT 5.0 is less efficient that a TT 3.5. HP per Liter... That would mean Ford may have an 800hp TT V8 coming soon... A 5.5 won't cut it... They would need a 7 liter twin turbo.

If that's the DOHC motor, they need to start over from scratch. That thing was not happening at all. Lol

You never know. The V6 Chivy uses in the Camaro is a dual overhead cam motor, so they are familiar with the design and construction of such a beast.

It didn't sound OHC, that is an OHV engine. Identical to the LT1...

I know many say they hear supercharger whine but it was not present. The speeds observed were not typical of a 500hp engine.

The GT350 is faster than a z28 in every way, shape and form.

It is also much cheaper than a z28 AND, you have a base competitive option for SCCA/NASA classing.

The details I provided about the comparison has been proven...

The GT350 is a far better option than a z28 for pretty much everything. That was the original debate and we have come to a conclusion... all Chevy needs to do now is man up and send a z28 to be slaughtered...

So, we can't move on until somebody grows balls...

You mean the actual factory car?

That would be the Mustsng.

The GT is faster than the SS.

THE GT350 is much faster than the z28.

Or you mean the Frankenstein racing with various restrictions on various cars? That's not a platform comparison and isn't meant to be. We all saw what happened before the various cars were restricted in a variety of ways. The gt350 spanked them all. Brutally. Could have been arrested for abuse.

Actual factory vehicles so far show the Mustsng to be faster.

The 2016 Camaro will be the faster car for one year. Except for the gt350.

One video I did watch of the new Camaro at the Gring sounded as though it was an automatic and almost a direct shift like a possible DSG. I know there's a new 8-speed auto, but any news as to whether it is a DSG or not?

Doubt we'll see a DSG/DCT in a GM product for some time, given all the push for the 8-speed and its ability to match sequential 'box shift times without the annoying lagginess of a dual-clutch when leaving a stop light.

The 2015 Mustang is faster than any SS made from 2010 to 2015, in both the real world and media comparisons. The SS is so bad that they quit sending them all together and only sent 1LE's. The '15 had an impressive maiden season in Solo too... Some magazines had actually tested a GTPP just as fast as a C7 Z51 at the same track. It's not a great example BUT, never has a GT put up compatible lap times to a Corvette. The GT is about equal to the last GT in the 1/4... Both were 12.7-12.9 on average.

The GTPP is just as fast if not faster than a Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca. From the media results and real world performance, I'd say that boast was very accurate.

Chevy says the '16 SS is faster... They also said that about the ZL1 and the GT500. But to what end AND, is that even fact to begin with. The 1LE was faster than a GT too but it gets its ass kicked in the SCCA.

Are we to assume that's the $37,300 SS  it needs some better equipment ya' know. Does it have MRC? MRC is great... wouldn't you like to see a Camaro handle first on geometry alone? Are they including the dealership brake package in that claim??? Because I doubt it's standard equipment only...

The GT500 was faster than a ZL1, the 1LE absolutely struggles against the S197 GT, Boss and S550, the GT350 is faster than a z28...

This is why they want a clean slate now. They do not intend on going the honest Motorsport route and it's suddenly a 1/4 mile race again. They wanna wait in future products... solely resting the justification of the $37,300 on claims. The automatic 1SS looks to be the only thing with an advantage and it's nearly a driver's race.

I seriously don't think they want to live through an actual comparison. Nobody on C5/C6's want to witness that. We might not even get to see it...

CHEVY NEEDS TO SEND THEM A TEST CAR. DONT BE P$SSY's!!!
