Don't they all run the same size tires and wheels?

275s like everyone else, I looked at the Mustang yesterday and they were running the same tire as everyone else. Unfortunately I didn't grab a picture of it.

It would be interesting to that in writing or at least a picture. But it is interesting IIRC the announcers said Mulitmatic knew why the car was slowing, it wasn't initially and issue of strategy it was pace however they wouldn't comment.

Mulitmatic made another comment about being the heaviest car out there and the heat was going to be a factor in tires.

It is to bad the rumbum car lost a serpentine belt, that's a bitch ass "engine failure" to loose to, though far from a true engine failure.

Camaro is the heaviest. By far. Look at the camp rules it shows weight.

My exact sentiments! Goooood lord, I don't care if the new Camaro does the 1/4 Mile in 11 seconds, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, blah, blah, blah! It will not make me start to re-consider MY purchase...there are folks who think if they mention magazine articles & track times that we will :hail:
But I will admit the constant banter about my brand is better than yours makes for some great reading while I sit on the shitter!

I'm a car nut, if and this is a huge IF, if that Z/28's MRSP was significantly less, I would have picked one up, I owned a 305 Camaro back in the day w/a few mods and at that time I hated Stangs. But once I picked up a 5.0 back in '89, I bleed Ford Blue.

I spoke with a few teams and they confirmed the tires for the gt350 being smaller. With all the heat tires made the difference in this race. Z28 got the win on a risky maneuver of only taking two tires.

I don't know what they meant by that but all teams run the same 275's.
AFAIK BOP is accomplished with restrictors and/or weight.

Going off what they said. There was a pic circulating around here. The z28 won not by normal means. The team only took two tires on the left I believe and got out before the other car. Smart crew chief and a risky maneuver

All that is, is pit strategy. Lots of teams do that at various tracks.

Taking two tires is by no means normal. They also got lucky beating the other car outta the pits. Pit strategy won the race. Not the car.

Taking 2 tires happens a lot at the end of a race, so yes it's normal. And to say it wasn't the car that won, now you sound like thepill. If the car wasn't near the front, the 2 tires would not of done any good. But since he was up front, the 2 tires was the best choice and they won by it. That is what you call a Team win.
