Stang TV has weighed a 2015 EcoBoost PP at around 3,500lbs. I can see a GT coming in around 3,650lbs. Just saying.......

Here, this will not help your arguement much.

Here is a Fully Loaded, Premium GTPP with around 12 gallons of gas.

We know a fully loaded Premium GTPP weighs 3814lbs (per C&D).

We also know there is around 125lbs of options availible. We broke it down to 45lbs in a Premium (42lbs last year) and 70lbs for a Performance Package (50-60lbs last year/Brembo). That leaves around 10lbs for stand alone options.

This car weighed 3780lbs, maybe 3800 total...

Strip out the options (or around 125lbs) and we get a good idea where it's at. That's givng us a number well under 3705lbs... About 3675lbs to be exact...

http://www.mustang6g.com/?p=3046

I can find one automatic that weighed what Ford said it does.

Believe it or not, it's none of my concern....

The manual base gt that weighed 3593 no fuel and no trunk junk weighs....

3704 with fuel and trunk junk

Again my car weighs 3810. That it's only 106lbs weight difference from a base gt manual

It was 3544lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. That would put it a little over 3600 curb with a full tank. So your around 3500 is quite a bit off.

So... How much would that make a Performance Package weigh?

A little over 70lbs sounds correct... I'm figuring at least 45lbs for a Premium.

Just removing the PP and Premium from the C&D's 3814lbs (Fully Loaded too) and it falls below 3700lbs without any effort.

There could be 15-30lbs of option on the C&D car (if they even weighed it).

Even in that circumstance, it shows potential for a 3660-3690lbs GT.

We are set on finding out why there is missing weight in some 2015's. Because this would have never happened with the previous 3622lbs figure.

These magazines have you by the balls. Everyone (including me) was under the impression that the star GT they used for Camaro comparisons was only 3622lbs... or admittedly, 250lbs lighter.

Well... For one, the Camaro wasn't 3860lbs, hasn't been since 2011. The 2SS was 3935lbs and the 1SS was at 3905lbs.

Our star GT was always the Premo Brembo GT because it brought the MSRP up to compatible levels to the porky SS. We were all led to believe these were 3622lbs cars when in fact, they were 3660lbs up to almost 3700lbs. Still a 175lbs-ish pound gap but, it wasn't what the magazines reported...

3622lbs vs. 3860lbs

Reality was 3675lbs vs. 3905lbs (1SS).

We are searching for a GT that weighs 3705lbs. I am sure we will find one... We are searching for a 3650lbs GT too and I am sure we will find one.

We already have a 40lbs spread, ALL under 3700lbs mind you. We were 8lbs off from 3705lbs and we were 7lbs away from a 3650lbs 2015. It's about even...

I did anticipate a 40lbs spread, 20/20 each way. A 50lbs spread might be pushing it. 10 extra pound of variation at this level is pretty big. That comes down to metal thicknesses, paint and e-coat mils, fasteners, welds, nuts, bolts, screws, stitching... Extra NVH material. Yes, I could find 10lbs in that stuff. But the other 40lbs of material is ever changing too. Very rarely will all these areas be the worst case scenario.

However, our spread is based on a Median number, and that median number is at 3672lbs. So, on our 20/20 spread, an even 3650 isn't possible right now. Nor is a 3705 though in this respect.

Now, with all that said, and with the absence of two GT weights this Gen (Base and Premium), we have reason to believe the answer is simple. That the 3705lbs figure was selected because it is the heaviest Base and the lightest Premium. Both based on a 20/20 spread (3660-3700 vs. 3700-3740. There is only one MPG rating so this method was used to certify less models and save money. The 3705lbs is just a slightly more lazy way to report a curb weight. But, more honest in the sense of real world fuel economy in my opinion.

Again, your just guessing on what weight the packages weigh to justify your under 3700 theory. Again look at my post #1705

If the numbers keep matching up then the figures are correct. These are numbers reported from multiple sources.

Unless you feel this is a huge collaboration on thePills part. Car and Driver still isn't happy with me and I doubt they would care.

Man... Look at that Fascia... How could they have designed it another way?

The only numbers that have not matched are your own numbers. All others I've seen match Fords web site.

You haven't seen all the numbers... You are a spectator, and you can watch for them here.

I think many here have proven your numbers wrong many times over and yet you still can't see it. Just re-read this thread again and maybe you will get your answer. I'm done

Why is everybody still bickering about the weight of a s550 gt? I thought this was a gt350 vs Z28 thread...

Does it really matter?

Even if the pill is off by a bit on the weight...who cares. I want to see more discussion about the ass whipping the z28 will receive. I want to talk about the 6th Gen z28/zl1, if that lt4 will heat soak like it does in the 2015 z06. I want to talk about 1/4 mile predictions...I'm hoping the gt350 can touch an 11...

Let's keep it on topic. :paddle:

Lol, because if you can't trust him to be accurate on simple math and facts...then how can you trust him to be accurate with the Z or Gt350?
