Considering all the blind spots that the curent Camaro has and other quality issues, highly doubt it. The interior in the Camaro is quite awful as well imho.

All I can say, it was good to see the Mustangs be competitive this week. Sure, the Camaro won and has the upper hand this year, but things are about to change and the Mustang will be considered a very viable competitor with a more capable chassis with an IRS.

True, but a new Camaro is also coming..

Might be a bitch to see out of (no idea, people say the same thing about the Challenger but i thought it was fine), but NHTSA says it's safer.

I think the Camaro has a strong identity now and this is the perfect time to fix the major issues. I feel a barrowed sedan chassis cannot fix what was broken on the previously barrowed sedan chassis. Key word... sedan, usually associated with "Full size" and not affiliated entirely with high performance and weight savings. Most of its structural support is there to bear a full size weight.

The 5th Gen is a shortened Zeta right? Zeta 2 or something. It was never meant to be a race or track anything...

It's lipstick on a pig and your eatin' its sh@t because some "professional reviewer" told you it was Sherbert. Don't do that...

I also wouldn't listen to a fanboy. 2015 Mustang is on my radar, but the previous years I very much disliked when I drove. The rear end was way too to bouncy. Happy they fixed that.

I discussed the oil temp issue with a local owner. No hard track days, all laps were under instruction. He claims he has witnessed his z28 over 280 in these conditions. He cannot remember the ambient temps on any of the track days nor did he look at the DA so, obviously, not the best test bed. No AC too...

I showed him the "proper" z28 race prep from C5 members over there. He had already removed the shield as suggested.

He's not overjoyed at the situation, he's more fearful of potential engine damage.

Good news though.. thePill may weasel his way into said z28 for a hands on review from a "professional reviewer LOL. Thanks for the conversation, I'm surprised anyone on forums can identify me in person.

...will thePill return to the Beav' in another Camaro? It would be bad ass for sure. Thanks again for reading!!!

This isn't a minor brake fade issue. We're talking about running hot in a dry sump system. Of course, its no big deal... Let the brakes fade on a GT500 in one test and its written off. When it comes to the z28 with 300+ degree oil temps, its the editors and drivers stupidity that caused it. Even if it is an engineering defect, 300 degree oil temps are not an issue anyway. Now owners and drivers are experiencing the same thing... It baffles me...

I'm tellin' ya, this thing was thrown together and pushed through. There is no way they let that passed QC... No way...

funny,

i just ran across that test, if both cars had the same tire on each car it would have been a very close test..

Just because I get a kick out of hearing you rant about all things Camaro, I'll throw you a bone. Check out the clutch issue on Camaro5 that owners are having with their z/28. :gossip:

I can't find anything on the Z28 running hot or having issues. I'm not saying it's not true, I just can't find it. I did see a thread on Camaro 5 where a guy was having clutch issues. Could be more are posting within that thread.

I do see you're mentioning the GT500.. I remember reading a comparison and the GT500 was running pretty hot(according to its gauge). Yes.. Another professional review!!

Tops had clutch issues but I believe they were caused by the dealer.

I see C5 members getting sensitive about 6th Gen weight. I'm afraid its very difficult to shed structure weight and feature weight at the same time. Its gonna be heavy... especially with a full size wheelbase.

I said "full size" wheelbase. What do you expect? Don't be astonished when the Camaro fails to do what the Mustang and Corvette couldn't.

I doubt you could find it.

I'm currently inquiring about the spare tire and the curb weight. At a dealership presentation today, the car came with a spare tire equipped. Like Fords other cars, it very well may be included in the 3705lbs. Previous curb weights excluded the tire in the Brembo package.

That also leads me to believe that weight us a Premium Performance Package as it was previously.

The Premium this year comes with 3 extra speakers and an amp. The GTPP has an additional cooler and overall larger everything (wheels, tires, brakes, sways).

They took a megaton of weight out if the Mustang. They also took on IRS and all the interior crap. I'm excited...
