Any speculation on Nurburgring lap times? Or Laguna Seca? I predict that Randy Pobst will short shift the shit out of the car when Motor Trend does testing around Laguna Seca just like he did with the Boss 302. I hope they post some tachometer shots just to keep him honest. We all know that GM bias is rampant in their articles. What a rag. I predict a "ring" time at least 2 or 3 seconds faster than the Z/28 and a Laguna time of around 1 or 2 seconds faster. In a car that's $20,000 cheaper! If this holds true then MT will have to pit it against a new Z06 or something ridiculous to make it look inferior. And somehow they will make it seem like a fair contest. I hope Ford has a third party professional driver do some testing and release footage with times first. Shut them down before they even get their hands on a GT350!

I predict a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds, quarter mile of 11.9 and Laguna Seca time of 1:36

The GT350 is not 100% about it's performance...

There is a critical thing called "fun to drive"... that is not quantitative. So all the nurb stuff will be true, but the ultimate factor will be the smiles on peoples faces when they live the thrum of the FPC.

I think the Shelby will hang with the Stingray... but offer more smiles.

Biased towards GM? Come on. Did you not just read their test drive on the Silverado 1500 with the 5.3? Why do people keep resorting to this when the results are not what they want to see?

Audi R8 = 7:34
Z/28 = 7:37 (but may have left out 50 meters in the time trial, some rain)
911 Cayman S = 7:37

So about 7:30 - 7:40 and $10k less than a Z28 with better creature comforts and street driving.

An R model maybe under 7:30.

I question your own impartiality given your post, but my thoughts are the following:

1. Not sure what article had short MT short shifting the Boss, but I don't remember any where the outright power was questioned. Therefore, IMO, the results would not have been affected even if short shifting had occurred.

2. GT350 will not beat the Z/28 until it gets r-comps and more aero. It will be a better mix of track car and DD than the Z/28. And with a nicer interior and better sight lines, plus the righ revving, low inertia engine, will be as much (or more) fun to drive.

3. Ford will not release a ring time, because they are not focused on outright track times, but rather on a rewarding driving experience. I do think it will be faster than a Cayman S.

4. No matter how close to two cars are in performance and fun-factor, MT will write a scathing headline to sell magazines and get website clicks.

5. Randy Pobst is the man.

Pobst is one hell of a driver, and I would be VERY SURPRISED if he intentionally sabotaged one car in favor of the other.

If they had an RHD version I would be voting for the Stig at Top Gear to get it done right.

You'll likely never see a 'Ring time for the GT350. Yes, it was tested there, but unlike GM, Ford does not hang their marketing hat on published times there.

my personal guess's 0-60 just under 4 seconds, maybe quicker remeber the 13-14 gt500s were 3.5 seconds do to the tall gearing, im thinking 3.8 maybe 3.9
11.7 1/4 mile and 60-0 at right at or just under 100ft
