I just joined and bought a used 2016 Tech Pack and I know it does not have coolers. How many people have replaced the trans and not just the external oil cooler pump. I was looking at that and some other things.

Had a 2016 Tech pack. Put a transmission cooler into the car in the factory location and tracked it whenever I wanted. Had a switch on the console, when Trans got hot, flipped switch and continue to track.

See the GT350 Basics sticky, lotsa info.

Do you have the Trans and Axle Temps displayed in your dash?
Ok, I will have a look at the 'sticky". I have not explored all of the menus in depth yet. Kinda just having fun on the curves and learning how it drives and how it needs to be driven.

Tech pack owner here. I did the same as post #2. Have more than 30 fun filled track days. Fun chasing down 911 GT3’s and taking it to the C7 vettes. The engine has the oil cooler from the factory and for the rear differential I replace it after every 4 track days. A bit excessive I know (the fluid never looks burned) but I like to take care of the car.

I did the same with the rear differential. My fluid was always good, but felt good to make sure when I changed it.

I tracked my Tech pac about 8 track days a year and in the 3 yrs of ownership, put 20K miles. Loved the car.

It was also fun just driving. Made numerous trips to the NC/SC/GA mountains for days of fun.

Oops, I just noticed this yesterday. This big gap in the body pane and just not aligned well. You can see the clip that holds it. Was there ever a fix put out by Ford?

@sox3 got you covered on the rear bumper gap issue. There’s also several diy fixes in the Basics sticky.

On the Ford transmission- those were going for about half the price when the over heating issue became apparent. I’d give the parts department at Autonation White Bear Lake a call and explain you just got a ‘16 Tech and are considering going this way. See what they can do for you.

On the cooler kit- it’s priced pretty much the same and is what you would want if you went the OEM transmission route. It does have the parts if you went the diy route with an external pump but there’d be left over parts.

I used the Ford radiator kit you have in that link. Then added a $250 pump and took the lines from the kit and had male AN fittings attached. Add in some hose, female AN fittings, switch, relay and wire brought my cooler solution to about $1k as a DIY project. Takes about a weekend to do.
