I just tried to order the shift knob too, but it would not let me, LOL. It did not have a price, but it let me add it to my cart anyways. The checkout process would not complete though.

Looks from the pictures, that the shift knob is backlit, so I'm wondering if our 2015 do have the requirements to plug it in... Had one in my Fiesta back in France (backlit knob), and that was a pretty cool feature (matched the lit sill plates that came with) lol

Well, this thread is definitely getting a sub lol. If price is even relatively close to what's been estimated so far it'll be a no brainer. I'm not losing sleep over the factory wheel but I felt like the PP cars probably should have had a suede or flat bottom wheel standard in tandem with the Recaros.

I've been wanting an nice suede/alcantara wheel as an upgrade from the base or "sport" wheels in the last few BMW's I had owned. Almost succumbed to the $1400 price tag on the flat bottom M performance wheel with led shift lights and lap timer for my old e90 last summer :headbonk:

Edit: The shift knob though.... she will be mine... oh yes...

Well, just got a call from the dealership. The part number is not in his system at all. If he put it in another system, he finds there are only 2 available nationwide.

He tried and tried again to persuade me from ordering it until we could figure out exactly what it was. He was rather helpful though. He asked for a vin from a GT350 I was trying to get the wheel from, and luckily a window sticker was posted on the front page today so I gave him that one. Not in his system either.

I ended up just telling him to order it, and I'll take a gamble. He also said it is non refundable despite what the website says. I have my ways of getting it refunded, so I was not letting that stop me.

The plot thickens! Is it the flat-bottom wheel or not?! Only time will tell...I will have that wheel, the knob and the red on/off button.

My gut says if it is indeed the flat bottom wheel when he goes to order it he gets told naughty-naughty.

With only 2 available nationwide, I feel pretty good about it.

He said if he orders it today he probably wont have it until mid next week.

Let's hope it has the 3 o'clock steering wheel buttons on the one you ordered. Looks like some wheels don't have that.
