For those of you wondering how the stock bezel piece compares to the R. Finally got mine installed as well. Now to wait for these temps to go up so I can drive it !

anyone have any pictures of the back side of the steering wheel?

Does it still have the plastic cover behind the buttons/spokes?

Why wouldn't it?

Just wishful thinking. I hate that part of the wheel, it ruins it imo. Spokes too thick, shit plastic cover behind the buttons, and the rim is too thin. They need help in the steering wheel department, imo.

They do look good though, from the front.

Ugh not sure what happened but my menus are going wonky. Something is up with the left side controls with the arrows and ok button. The car seems to think im always pressing the down button so it just cycles through the selections. Took the airbag off and reseated the connections but still same thing :(

Update: well this isn't good. Tugging on the wires in the harness stops it temporarily but there's no rhyme or reason. It's not like the wires or getting pinched or tugged a certain way for the down button to start flipping out

Take a good look at each wires , you may have pinched one in the removal process.

The best thing you can do is probably take the wheel completely off and reassemble it, taking care to ensure you don't pinch any wires underneath the trim pieces or anything.

Quick question about installing and centering the wheel: After finishing my install, my wheel is slightly off center--enough so that it's mildly annoying. Does anyone know if, instead of trying to install the wheel with the wheels pointed straight, you can turn the car to a full lock, and then install the wheel in the same position? It seems like it would be easier to make sure the wheel is pointed in the correct direction that way, but I just wasn't sure if it was possible. Ideally, it seems like turning the car to a full lock to the right (the direction the wheel gets torqued when tightening the nut) and then installing would be the best bet. Anyone know if this is possible? Thanks in advance!

If it is slightly off then it is probably just the wheel itself as there is a hex where it mounts to the steering wheel. I think you would notice a fair amount off if you had misaligned the hex (60 degrees off)

There should be a key notch or something making it a only one way installation. Where your wheels are pointed shouldn't make a difference.

Your wheel is most likely not centered to the alignment and it wasn't noticeable without the site line leather strip on the new wheel.

Wow, there was?!? Shows how observant I am!

I thought I remembered the wheel moving in my hand as I was torquing the nut down and thought that affected how the wheel was pointed.

But goes into the steering wheel and the 2 yellow indexing pins swivel around freely. So you could have indexed the pins correctly but then accidentally misaligned the hex.

Thanks for the pic! It's only off by a couple degrees--certainly not a full turn of the hex. When I hold the wheel with the spokes pointed to 9 and 3, the car tracks slightly to the left. When I'm going straight, the wheel appears to be turned very slightly to the right (according to the position of the spokes, and not the centering stripe).
