Notes:
Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal
Practice the air bag clips on the new wheel
Remove covers and controls from top to bottom
Pry from the wheel inward
Reinstalling the covers you have to press them on with a little force until they click
Make sure you reattach all connections firmly
I added a little more locktite to the steering wheel bolt
And again make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal

I mean I'm not really in the business of bashing vendors and such, but there is something wrong with them taking down the video just because they don't sell the product anymore. They can only help the community when they're making money off of us?

I know I will have to put my flame suit on for this probably but... What is everyone's main reason for disconnecting the battery for this install?
Are you doing it bc is the general rule of them to do any time working on a repair?
Are you scared the airbag will go off?
Are you scared you will have the airbag light come on?
Or all 3?
I ask because I watch takata recalls get done all the time with no battery disconnect and no airbag light reset required. As long as the key status is off while disconnected the light won't come on. And the airbag is not going to go off like that. They hardly go off in minor accidents haha.
But yes it is best practice to always disconnect the battery whenever working around electrical.

As you said, purely CYA best practices.
They will get that 1 in 50,000 that pops, perhaps unrelated to not disconnecting it, and the person sues for millions over bad install instructions.

I agree with this scenario. Bc the airbag is just as likely if not more likely to randomly go off while your driving and honking your horn, as it would if the vehicle is stationary, key off, and you're disconnecting it.

Haven't done mine yet, but by looking at this post and seeing the CJ video before it was taken down, I'd say 45 min to an hour, taking your time

About an hour or so, did mine last night with a flash light.:cheers::lol: Couple minutes longer for the Auto, to swap the paddles and back over.

I'm thinking of getting one now, people keep saying the stock wheel is garbage/sucks compare to one of these.

Get it. Might be my favorite mod I've done lol. Feels great. Didn't take long. I did it at night using a nearly dead flashlight and used this thread for instructions

I've been looking at this wheel for months now but it always seems like it's either out of stock, has indefinite waiting times, or some obscure obscure is selling it. Do y'all have a solid name to buy from that can guarantee they will have the wheel withing a reasonable amount of time?
