If you don't want a convertible, or you don't want an automatic/A10 ("want" includes the need for other, non-manual drivers to be able to operate the car), then I'd go with a GT350. Once you've committed to the experience of a manual, the additional driver engagement, owner experience, of a GT350 - I would suspect - is incomparable.

For me, the convertible experience supersedes everything else, so I'm driving a GT, it's spectacular setup with PP/MR, the A10, AE, it's fun, fast (tuned), has every creature comfort I could want - but my first inclination if I went "manual coupe" would be a GT350.
I agree with this statement. The convertible experience is fantastic if you have the correct climate conditions to enjoy the top down experience the majority of the time. or are not a "cold all the time" person..... but for a manual coupe the 350 is hard to beat.

I love my convertible GT500 as Florida is a great place to have the top down. But, love the GT350 just as much as I love to go tracking.

I am also considering going to a GT350 from a modified 2009 GT500 and I'm wondering if you miss the bottom end power when you drive the 350 on the street? I'm not going to be able to keep the 09 GT500 since I already have a 2018 GT PP Vert.

Bottom end power is a little lacking with the GT350. But being able to wring the car out past 6-7K rpm makes up for it.

Depends, coming off a traffic light and want to "accelerate quickly" yes, Driving it normal and just enjoying the car, NO. I am 56 yrs old and "dont have to be the 1st away from the light" as I would say.

Had the Lund tune in 2016 GT350 and the "lag" was gone. Highly recommend. The GT350R is 6 mths old and when I hit 1 YR, I will contact Lund to modify the old tune for the new car.

As posted above, put the Lund Tune in and the LAG is gone.

Trust me, I would love to tune the car but I plan on keeping my full powertrain warranty in effect.
Agreed, I waited 2 yrs with my 2016. Not exactly sure what I will do with the 2019 yet. Being I purchased it mainly to track and my wife will not ride in it because of the Recaro's and since she will not ride, I doubt we will road trip this car. So, I may just leave the tune alone.

Thanks I'm right there with you(55) and doing digs on the street are a thing of the past for me. Actually I don't "race" my cars at all BUT I do enjoy occasionally like to light up the tires in 2nd and 3rd gear when the situation permits and pulling hard until maybe just a little beyond the legal limit....lol
I could be tempted to do some track stuff again with a 350 but mostly just tooling around on the weekend. BTW I think I've seen your cars around town at R&B's and such but I haven't made it out to any meets in over a year...

I do alot of things with all my cars and always "out and about". Next time you see me, please stop by and chat. Love putting faces with the screen names.

I think you'll be happy with that decision. I had an 18 GT PP1 manual with a Whipple on it putting mid 700's to the wheels, and it was super fun and a blast to drive. Unfortunately, it met an untimely death after venturing airborne into a field... That being said, when I bought that car I was tossed up between the GT and a GT 350. I replaced it with a 2017 GT350 with 2K miles on it this past Friday, and couldn't be happier. My initial thoughts were that I was going to put a Whipple on this one as well, but after putting about 650 miles on it over the weekend, it is a blast to drive as it is. It will eventually get some form of boost, but it is an amazing car as it is.

I want to start tracking my car more, so I wish I could have afforded a GT350. But even if you just plan to hit car shows or use it as a weekend car, the GT350 will get all the attention.

Another reason why I wish I would have gotten the GT350 is I would have been totally fine with leaving it stock, while with my GT I'm always wanting to upgrade items on it and a lot of the items I've upgraed to come stock on the GT350.

All that being said, if its main purpose is a daily driver which will see no track time, I would probably get a GT PP1 with a 10 speed.

For me its a second car and I want to feel the experience of driving a manual sports car. The magneride allows you to customize your setup. You can do this with either a GT or GT350 but they are 2 very different cars. Raw and driver focused is the GT350. Refined, powerful and fun is the GT in automatic form, the manual is a great experience and a good option if your looking for driver involvement. You really need to drive as many as you can and decide what fits you best.

This thread is perfect for me.
Thinking of swapping my 2019 GTPP1 for a 19 GT350 leftover.
I came from a 2018 Corvette GS cause of back problems. As far as a track car, How many people own ZO6's and never track them. They even offer them as a convertible. The GS is also a "track ready" car and you see plenty of them as DD's.
To me, the GT350 is a "track ready" car. I love to wind out my cars when I get the chance, and the GT350 just sounds like more fun.
If the price is right, I'll be in a 350.
