Wait Bass Pro?? When the heck did that open?
Before Christmas and it's HUGE!! Best of all... it's in the middle of "Liberal Town"!! :headbang:

The location was private owned "farm land" for 60+ years and I think the owners who sold only sold to make sure a store like that would go in??

I just got home from finalizing my GT350 order and all this talk of backroads and wineries in Livermore are making me anxious! If you guys ever take a ride down and I still don't have my car yet let me know so I can join in with my current Mustang.

Do not have a GT350 but Bakersfield to San Luis Obispo by taking the 58 west from McKittrick. Fun winding climb up to the Kern County line and a fun drop. Couple of straights along the California Valley with 3-4 fun "whoops" where you cross the fault line. Then a nice slow drop down to Santa Margarita.

There was virtyally NO traffic back a few years ago. But now they put a giant solar farm up there so employees for that thing may make week day blasts not as CHP free as they once were. On the weekends there are more "old wing" riders than I care for.

Also if you are brave and willing to play "dodge the pothole"...

Right around the school that is at the mid point of the race across "the flats" is Cholame road. Cholame wi take you from the 58 to the 46. Pops out just about 3 miles from where James Dean died. It becomes what I describe as an over grown bike path and is a no-lane paved road. Lots of rolling foot hills and sweeping turns.

A good day was driving Bakersfield to Cholame, to 46, to the back road through wine country to Atascadero, to San Luis Obispo for lunch. Then down to 166 and back to Bakersfield. Was trying for the 33 to Ojai/Ventura but it was closed due to snow.

Another no-lane over grown bike path is Breckenridge road east of Bakersfield off of Commanche.

Also 155 through Glenville up to Alta Sierra, down to Lake Isabella, 178 back to Bakersfield.

In all events, watch out for blind turns and be mindful of the cows or errant bicyclist...

Wild Flower season in my area is usually done by mid-april.

This was Breckenridge road 2 weeks ago.

And Glennville Road/155/Woody Road last March.

And I'm still too ah-scared to take it over 6k RPM on the "streets". :hail:
that's not a bad instinct..I'm not a street racing type.
I've been ripping mine through it's range, but it's hard.
As mentioned in another thread, we've done 1.03g static on a long, sweeping, on ramp and done some good, hard, stopping...but it's really hard to push this car on the street.

PM me that on ramp if you don't want to mention it here.
I'm thinking 17 to 1-S???

These brakes really are good. One thing I haven't had to worry about.

I have a couple more to add since last update! Buttonwillow trip and a caravan over to Danville are on my list. And I'm headed to Sonoma this weekend :)
Thanks for the reminder!

Sonoma the raceway, or the town?

Should be fun either way!
