Is anyone else excited to see if the GT350 hood will fit our cars?
I don't see why it wouldn't, but my only concern is with the large heat-extractor vent in the middle and whether our coyote engines will clear that..

I doubt it will fit. You will need the fenders and front Fasia to match the lower hood. Even then we don't know what else is changed underneath.

I know the fenders are wider, but I wouldn't think they would change the mounting points along the hood. If anything, they would be flared out along the wheel arches. The front fascia looks to be along the same lines as ours.

I'm really not a big fan of our hoods.

Maybe. It's also a low hood and may not clear the 5.0 height. The 5.2 is different engine and stuff in the engine bay is configured differently.

Would be very cool if it was a bolt on fit. :D

I wonder how an oem hood price would compare to an aftermarket hood ($1500ish aftermarket ??)

In other threads, it was mentioned the front headlights mount slightly lower (a number of people tried inferring this from comparing photographs). If that's true, there might be a problem with fitment.

The front end sheet metal of the GT350 is all different. I believe the framework underneath is probably the same (except for the composite front support structure).
Would it fit? More than likely, but i doubt any of the shut lines would line up. It would look terrible.
I'm hoping that all the sheet metal is interchangeable and do a front end swap.

Someone will try it out sooner or later and confirm in the forums.

Speculation of the lower headlights would mean that none of the front end fits up correctly. But if the headlights are not lowered on the GT350, than I would predict we can have a field day and all this stuff will attach to our cars. I want the front bumper and fenders and fender liners if they fit. Hood maybe, doesnt matter as much to me though.

I am not sure if there is any evidence or reason to believe they lowered the headlights on this car though.

I would have to say the headlights were not lowered simply because of all the legal DOT crap Ford would have had to go through just to lower the height of them. That would be a ton of headache for no real gain or purpose.

Even if the hood doesn't fit, I'm sure someone will make a replica that does fit the regular models

I agree. I highly doubt the headlights are moved down. Some one took a bunch of photographs of the two front ends, the standard GT and the GT350, and attempted to draw lines of the two to "prove" that the GT350s were lower. I hardly consider that accurate. The bumper is lower, the hood and fenders are lower and wider, the whole car is lower and I think it is an optical illusion honestly. We'll find out sooner or later

If this stuff fits, Ford wont be able to keep up with how quickly these front end parts will sell. That is, if they will sell it! Wouldnt exactly surprise me if they want a VIN or other proof of ownership to sell the parts to keep the real GT350 more exclusive.

I had a 2008 Honda Civic Si (Im sure most don't know anything about it here) but they made a rare Mugen edition that year with only 1600 of them. The Side skirt, spoiler, front and rear lips, shift knob, etc required a vin to buy them if you wanted to bolt them to your standard Si. If you had a friend with a vin or knew the parts guy, you had no problem getting what you wanted. This will probably be the case here. Initially they'll probably be difficult to get but they'll be easier and cheaper to obtain with time. Granted this stuff bolts on of course  here's to hoping
