Do you think the GT350 will be part of the line up for the whole s550 lifespan like the GT500 with the s197 or just for a few years?

S197 Shelby was not entire life span. There was no 05 or 06 Shelby.

Gt350 can't be for whole life span. Won't be a 15.

Will it run until the end? No way of knowing. If anyone could predict for sure, they'd win lottery.

Personally, I'd like it to be here for the long run, assuming we also get a GT500 and Mach1.

Otherwise, give it 2 years, then give us a GT500 monster :)

Just based on the mount of work on a new crank design, I would assume it to be the lifespan of the S550, unless the voodoo will make its way into the GT following the mid cycle refresh. The condor/trinity had a pedigree going back to the Cobra R, I would be surprised to see ford drop the work they did on the voodoo on only a 2-3 year run.

I really really want the GT350, so in the interest of availability I hope it is around for a long time. However the pessimist in me thinks that it might be more like the Boss302 and will only be around for a short time. Ford has said it would be produced in numbers similar to the GT500, so hopefully that means more than just a couple years of production. In any event, I chose the 3-4 years option as a way to split the difference between my hope and my fears.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if it sticks around for more than 2 years, 2018 voodoo powered mach1 maybe?

I'm going with 2 years simply because I don't think Ford will produce a GT350 and GT500 at the same time. Although it would be awesome if they did, I just don't see there being a big enough market for 2 high dollar mustangs.

Well, we had Boss and GT500 at the time. Admittedly, one was an SVT effort and one was Team Mustang.....

I think the GT500 nameplate won't be used for a while as it did all (I mean most) of the s197's lifespan. Besides cars designed for the track rather than the drag strip are more popular, especially considering that the 5.8 trinity won't be used to make a GT500 replacement.

Exactly, one team mustang and one SVT mustang at very different price points. How many $55K+ mustangs can the market hold? That I don't know the answer to. It would be awesome if they did though.

Didn't last long, though. I think he's probably right that two high dollar Mustangs (especially two that will [probably] be as similar as the GT350 and GT500) isn't terribly likely.

That would make me reconsider my commitment to holding my 50th year (no AP) Mustang till I die.
