That is genus. The next time I get the car up I will give it a try. Are you using that method?
Yeah. The clamps nut is facing upwards and forward. Basically the bolt portion of the clamp makes contact to the coolant housing.

Where do you find those filter clamps or is that a home made jobby?
Even if you kept the nut back off the coolant housing 1/4" or 1/2", it would loosen and butt up against the housing with still plenty of clamping force to keep it sealed. Maybe even a rubber boot on the nut face to keep it from scaring the housing if it ever did move. (OCD).

I had mine in my shop. These are used to clamp boost tubes on diesel trucks or coolant lines. You can find them online or at napa or any hydraulic hose service store.

They also make those clamps with rubber on them to provide cushion and grip. Also with springs on the bolt to keep them tight and from loosening

Got my clamp. At largest setting it fits snug over filter. Wont take but a couple turns to make it tight.
Any of you guys notice exhaust soot being shot out the rear?my garage floor has the crap on it. Checked my exhaust has a lot of soot around ends. Came off real easy with wd40.

All engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. This is necessary in order to properly lubricate the cylinder walls, pistons, piston rings, valves and if equipped, the turbocharger(s).
In addition, engines with less than 10,000 miles will generally consume additional engine oil because the internal engine components are not fully seated (break-in). Therefore engine oil consumption analysis should be performed after this break in period.
Once a new or remanufactured engine has accumulated 10,000 miles, oil consumption can be considered if there is a drastic change in the engine oil consumption rate (e.g., the engine oil consumption rate triples) under similar driving conditions.
Engines equipped with a turbocharger(s) will consume more engine oil than normally aspirated engines (non-turbocharged). The additional oil that is consumed in a turbocharged engine is mainly due to the turbocharger lubrication requirements. Some of the engine oil normally migrates past the turbocharger turbine bearing seals and will enter the intake tract of the engine. All turbocharged engines also require a complex crankcase ventilation system. The crankcase ventilation system needs to maintain a small vacuum on the crankcase and not allow the crankcase to be pressurized.
Pressurizing the engine crankcase can lead to external engine oil leaks and increased engine oil consumption via the piston rings and valve seals. When the load and the boost level of a turbocharged engine is varied, the path of the crankcase pressure is changed. During the crankcase ventilation path transition, a small amount of engine oil will pass through the crankcase ventilation system and is additionally consumed. Oil residue found in these crankcase ventilation hoses is a normal condition for properly operating turbocharged engine. The additional engine oil consumption of a turbocharged engine, as compared to a normally aspirated engine, is normal and not a defect.

A lot of oil usage

After reading this thread and I am grateful for you guys. I just checked my oil and I have 1630 miles since buying in July '16, and I have not babied this thing but not redlined it and I just put 3 quarts in. WOW!!! That is a lot of oil.

Don't you think this is a little much?

One thing I noticed is when checking the oil the dipstick reads lower if you insert the lettering side down. I checked 3 times, if i rotated the stick 180 degrees and checked so the lettering was up when I inserted it was over the thru hole on the top. Flip it 180 so lettering is down and reading was right in the middle.

Yes sir Ding Ding and driving high rpm with no load will not keep the rings seated and they will flutter and allow oil to get by!

The Voodoo uses aluminum pistons, but are they coated with anything? If the rings are fluttering and moving you'd think that it would ware the groove out fairly easily.
