LOL, I see this FAR to often.

As for my guess...

I'm thinking the GT350 will be a very low 12 or high 11 second car trapping somewhere around 120 Mph. The "R" should shave a tenth or two from the ET and also pickup an extra Mph or two.

EDIT: Actually, I'm completely forgetting the "R" has a wheel/tire diameter roughly an inch smaller than the base GT350. 2 tenths and around 2 Mph should be AT LEAST the difference between the two...

Right. The R essentially has one step lower rear gears because of the tire diameter.

Your definition of "aftermarket exhaust" is interesting.

Just saying that the Voodoo will respond greatly with mods. Maybe with just a tune. I do believe that Ford said the GT350R will have a hp bump over the base GT350 buy won't say how much. I bet the GT350R makes 550hp.

All they said was that the R would have slightly more power because of the resonators being removed. It will probably be very minimal.

Has anyone seen the Road and Track review for the Shelby GT Super Snake with 850 hp? I can't believe they only managed 3.9 s to 0-60 and wait for it 12.3 s quarter mile! 12.3 s on a freaking 850 hp monster:doh:

Something must have been gone south. There is no way!

I think the tune is changed too, but I could be wrong. 24 more hp is modest.......

Steve on SVT said the Ford engineers hinted that a Tri-Y design header would not only add hp, but make the sound even more incredible.

Not buying it, if they did change the ECM they would need a separate set of fuel economy/emissions testing and would rate the motor as such. And 24hp out of a highly strung motor is not modest.

How do you know that the tune does not come with the GT350? Just waiting to be unlocked. Unlocked on the R and lying dormant in the base GT350. The tune changes from sport to track and back. I've seen the specs on this motor. They compare to the 5.2 CobraJet in many ways. Some things are not quite as good. But some specs are alot better. This motor is not tapped out at 526hp and that's a certain bet.

It's up to Ford to retest the motor and they chose to stick with the lesser rating. Just waiting on the aftermarket to throw this car on a dyno..........

It's not quite that simple when you are dealing with emissions and the EPA. 25hp automatically means different fuel/timing tables and thus slightly different emissions output and fuel economy. Ford can't just sign up for one set of standards and "unlock" the ECM for the actual car.

Notice how well that is going over for VW?
