Any update on the repairs? I'm thinking you and I have the same issue Ruby.

Block is in the dealer waiting gaskets which are back ordered until June 10th. I will update once they receive the gaskets.

Block is in the dealer waiting gaskets which are back ordered until June 10th. I will update once they receive the gaskets.
Ruby305GT - I was wondering if maybe you could find out from the dealer doing your repair if these 2015 Coyote engines have oil squirters for the pistons/cylinders or not? If so, I'm wondering if the cylinders that scored on you were not getting enough oil from the squirters (?).

Thanks ... I'm curious if the 5.0L has the oil squirters or not. Someone posted somewhere thinking they may not now ... don't really know. It would be nice to know for sure, and since your motor is torn down it would be easy to have someone verify with eyeballs.

Sounds like there must have been some FOD (due to manufacturing) sucked down your cylinders in order to score them and also bugger up the head.

Any word on if this 2015 Coyote has oil squirters or not?

Asked about squirters, manager will relay info to the shop foreman as he has no idea. He is going back in on Monday, I can follow up then.

FOD stands for foriegn object debris/damage. Anything from earings to pens getting into places they shouldnt be.

In engine manufacturing zones esp in aviation you have different FOD control areas, most of which should be FOD critical meaning you need to control everything.

He means did they find the damage before they started the engine so as not to make anything worse. I think it likely they discovered the damage on disassembling it.
