GT PP detune in low gears?

Are you a tuner or do your own tuning? Trying to learn, hence my question

I don't have a tuner yet but can you expand on it a bit more? TIA.

There is something going on for sure because I had track mode on, traction control off and ran 12.8's 3 times and then tried getting more aggressive off the line and something happened every time I tried to push my 60' times lower than 2.0. Those passes resulted in 13.8-14.3 when the computer interfered with the runs.

It can only be changed thru that software, any good tuner can do it.

Understand what I wrote though, it only will go to that strategy if certain condtions are met, that is why some people never expierence it. If the car thinks you are slipping the clutch just a bit too much in the launch it will severely reduce power to help protect the drivetrain, some have called it abuse mode.

The computer has no way of knowing how much a driver is slipping the clutch, please show me where this clutch sensor is.Its traction control and advance taking power out.

This has nothing to do with clutch or whatever you guys are talking about. Its the Advancetrack or whatever it blinks in the bottom right side of the gauges. It cuts the power off to the wheels almost like a torque managment system. It happens often when i have the car in snow mode and try to drive it hard as possible. Both traction light and advancetrac light comes on and cuts the power to the wheels. Holding the traction switch off for couple of seconds make sense. :cheers:

It absolutely does, measures input/output shaft speeds in relation to rpm, load and throttle input. If it surpasses the set threshold it enables the clutch protection strategy, nothing to do at all with any of the traction controls.


I've only explained it 4 times now, believe whatever you want and enjoy your car.

That aint what u said at first, u said it meaning the ecm detects clutch slipage, input and output speed sensors are in the transmission not the clutch.Run some slicks on ur car and put it advance trac off and tell me how long ur clutch last using that clutch protection strategie.

Been over 3 years zero issues, so have many others out there. I talk from experience...

Never heard of clutch protection strategy...is it called torque management?

Yes, the protection is actually in the tune..and has to be tuned out..as seen here..and if the conditions are met, it will kill the cars power..

Most people can turn the advancetrac off and it will keep the car happy. Unfortunately the clutch protection strategy is something that must be addressed if you plan on running the car aggressively at the track, etc.. This isn't something new for the 2015 cars. Every person is gonna have a different experience because more or less everyone drives differently.
