I have a JLT intake, ARH catless full exhaust and notice if I leave the car idling for a few min as soon as I accelerate there's noticeable smoke. It's been doing it for awhile and I'm getting nervous. The car has had a catch can since under 500 miles. Does anyone else have this problem? Is ford going to give me a hard time for the bolt ons ? Car only has about 6,500 miles.

I'm no expert by any means but without the cats I would think you would see a lot more exhaust fumes. Also I think with a JLT intake you need a tune to go with it. I could be wrong.

Car is tuned and I know plenty of people without cats on different cars that don't smoke at all.

Good luck getting the dealer to warranty any engine issues with a tune on there. This is why I am letting mine stay untuned for a while to be sure no engine problems happen.

Blue and you can smell burnt oil.
No bueno. Check under the car for leaks around the seals and inspect your oil - hopefully it isnt a blown head gasket.

florescent light in a dark garage will help. Oil lights up dark green.

1) Double check and be sure the oil level is not "above" the fill line on the dipstick. If for any reason it was over-filled with oil, I am pretty sure you will get the blue smoke thing. i believe the oil change uses 8 quarts. Someone could have threw 8 quarts in there, without actually draining the entire 8 quarts beforehand.

2) Step two: If you truly have lots of spare time, remove each spark plug one at a time and observe if any single plug is covered in oil. Obviously if you discover a lot of oil plug, I guess something went wrong with a piston ring.

3) You might consider reassembling the engine to appear factory stock. If there is some kind of oil burning defect, it is possible Ford will still fix it. Your bolt-ons sound like they did not cause a problem.

4) Other simple fix: If for any reason your car is using the partial-synthetic type of oil, I bet money if you just use normal dinosaur oil, you may notice the oil burning will go away. I have never, ever used any kind of synthetic oil in (4) new cars I have and I can say none of the cars leak, and none burn oil. and i don't even change this oil until like at least 8000 miles go by, and this is regular old oil.

5) Run this test: Drain all of the oil from your mustang and measure and see if you truly drained out 8 quarts. After this fill the system with normal oil (not in any way synthetic oil) (If the coyote calls for 5w20, then use penzoil 5w-20). check the dipstick one hour after the oil change after the car ran for a few minutes and verify the REAL location of "full" on the dipstick. After this drive the car for one week, but don't redline the engine. keep it under 3000 rpm. Then check the dipstick. Or do like you said, and let the car idle, then look at the exhaust for any smoke.

6) If you do find oil on any spark plug, then my ideas about switching to normal oil probably won't help but it is a cheap fix if it actually works.

7) Review whatever the "break-in" procedure you followed for your engine.

Yes there is a definite loss but there is also a fare amount in the catch can.

I thought the coyote's came with a Ford blend of synthetic. I know my 14 GT did and that's what I have the dealership use when I have them change the oil.
