First post. The one that matters. Hi I'm RNstanger. Now that i got that out of the way, I'm dealing with a local dealer on a GT. Sticker price is $35,180. With X plan and rebates he's giving me $36,480 OTD that's tax, lic and gap insurance, 0% APR. I've talked to him twice and the last time was for a while with me haggling although I heard you can't really haggle with X plan. Gotta at least try right? Does it sound like this is as good as it gets? I'm about to head out the door.

Any options? Nav, 400A or 401A, Performance Pack, Stripes?

If it's just a base mod Mustang the price might be spot on...you can check X-plan yourself though and do the math.

Only options are 3.55 gears and Reverse park assist. So there really is no haggling with X plan? Just asking because this is the first time I've ever used it.

I used x plan and as far as I understand they can't do much on top of it, if anything

I made my deal, then brought out x-plan paperwork. They laughed. My deal was $750 below x-plan.

Yes, you can do better then x-plan. Problem is, you let them see your cards before the deal was finished. That is why ford will basically let anyone have x-plan. Makes their job easy, they dont have to haggle.

You can almost always get gap insurance cheaper through your auto insurance provider (heck Liberty Mutual includes it for free). And once you owe less than it's worth you can cancel it and save some money.

Go to Jim at Villa Ford, Im sure he can do better than what you're being offered.

Forget X plan, you can do a lot better. I got my GT CS for $400 under invoice. Also negotiate to make sure they don't tack on any dealer doc fees.

That's a sweet deal. But is that total paid after loan paid off?
No that's the price before. It actually came to a little more for me because I had negative equity going into the deal but the car was sold at $36385.

I was comfortable doing X-plan because I ordered it to my specifications, so my bargaining power is limited. If I was picking up whatever they had on the lot, I would have expected and demanded to do better than X-plan, especially now that the early adopters have subsided.

i was going to use X-Plan myself, but the price my dealership offered me was well under X-Plan so I didn't even use it.

Seems like they're wheeling and dealing nowadays.

When I got my Ecoboost Mustang last year I used the X Plan and a $500 rebate that Ford was offering at the time and I was happy. Not too many dealers had a base model Ecoboost with the PP. I was happy to find several at Galpin out in the valley.
