I saw that someone had the above for sale in the classifieds.
Is there a vendor out there that has a true bolt on system that bolts to both sides of the stock header without welding?

They bolt onto the block like headers, why not just get long tubes if going through all of the install labor already?

True that, I was thinking tune next and then headers down the road.
I have some add on parts in the garage, just need my car to get here. Ordered 3/24 with a 5/20 build.

This is impossible. The drivers side cat is welded into the header.

They use a stock header with the cat cut off and a straight pipe welded back on. Either new from Ford or from people pulling their stock headers.

Might as well just buy longtubes at that point I would think?

I guess replacing the header is bolt on, but a complete waste if you're replacing with stock. Calling it a "cat delete pipe" instead of a header is a little wrong.

I agree with MAK, above.

If you are going to go through the effort of removing the driver side header, it would be wise to be swapping to a better header in my opinion.

Having done the MAK Pipe install on my personal car, it really is not that bad. You cut the cat off with a sawzall, bolt the pipes up and tack weld the flange onto the driver side header, remove the pipe and fill the weld in on the flange. Bolt back together and enjoy.

I realize most people cannot weld, or may not want to. But a quality exhaust shop, or a performance shop can knock it out in very little time, with very little effort.

Any damage to the cat after the cut?

You should not damage the cat in any way by cutting it. You can even add a flange to the cut side of the catalytic and made it a bolt-on piece, if you ever have to go backwards.

That is actually how I am running my car at the moment, with zero issues.
