Plus, swapping that in alone won't help much unless you can introduce cooling air across the brakes as well. But just adding the duct work is a big help on its own...

After seeing the initial reviews I have decided to wait a while before buying a new Mustang.
Specifically, I need an automatic transmission due to an old motorcycle injury but really want the Performance Package after reading the reviews that universally praise the improvement the PP brings to the Mustang.
And NO, I am not willing to spend the extra money to get a 50th.
The situation will probably roll around to me waiting till about this time next year to find out if an automatic PP happens for 2016 or if I will simply buy a leftover 2015 from a dealer lot.
Sort of sucks since I am already financially squared away to buy a 2015 as soon as they start hitting the dealerships but that is what I get for being a perfectionist.

Most likely in the 16 MY, there will be the choice of PP in auto. It maintains the exclusivity of the LE (arguments aside)
I think this definitely makes the most sense.... 2016 PP auto means all the 2015 LE autos are ultra rare if they are even going to offer it

That's my sole reason for wanting pp. I can't wait to have it with the LE auto. My current 11 with the TVS can build up way to much steam for the base breaks. Fade sets in easily. I know gt brakes are better but having pp on the LE's makes me that much happier.
Put some Brembo's or Ford Racing brakes on your 11.

In the Big scheme of things, they really aren't priced badly compared to what's at risk if you can't stop! Just my .02 and you get what you pay for. :D

Here's a couple of ideas:

Short Track/Road Course
Dominate tracks notoriously abusive on brakes. Largest, most aggressive 6-piston front caliper, paired with a stout 4-piston rear caliper. Routinely sustain brake temperatures of 1300 o F. Lightest short track package on the market. Accepts the largest brake pad and rotor available in all of NASCAR.
Raybestos ST41 and ST7 race pads are popular choices for short tracks and road courses:
  • Bristol
  • Martinsville
  • Richmond
  • Phoenix
  • Watkins Glen
  • Sonoma

Want a GT PP? Get an LE.

Other than that, you're out of luck.

Or import Euro models. All Euro models, manual and auto, have the P.P.

Just like me, you'll have to hope, wait, and see if they include PP on automatics for 2016s when they start orders for them. I'm betting they do.

Does anyone have any info as to whether Ford will offer the GT Automatic with the P.P.? Is there any good reason as to why they are not offering it now?
There is absolutely no reason to get an automatic with a 5.0 liter. Thinking of that makes me want to vomit.

You'll find the shifting very smooth and effortless with the GT. The hill assist is nice for those steep inclines. The only disclaimer I make, is the gear ratios are tight with the PP, so be ready to work the shifter.

To each their own. I can't drive stick, so it's not an option for me. Different strokes for different folks, and all.

In your opinion. If history holds, more than half of GT buyers (including me) will disagree with you. The current AT is an amazing device. Aside from making the car a lot more livable in traffic, the AT lets me choose to be relaxed (in Drive), more aggressive in Sport (complete with gear holding and rev-matched downshifts, or fully involved in Sport using the paddles.

I have had manual 5.0s for 25 years. I can double-clutch and heel/toe in my sleep. If that's your choice, good for you. It's a lot of fun. But there are advantages to the AT and pleasures that the MT doesn't have. (One example would be nearly instant response, in the right gear. I needed that yesterday to avoid being rear-ended by some fool when I was going 55 in 6th on the freeway. Had I floored a manual, I would have gotten intake noise and not a lot of speed. In my car, I got a quick downshift to third and we were out of harm's way. )

So, I don't criticize your choice. Kindly don't criticize mine, eh?

Reminds me of my Father, he was reluctant to purchase a TV with remote control (clicker), he liked doing it manually...Sorry I don't have anything intelligent to add, your statement took me back in time.

You will notice one thing in common when these cars start pushing deep into the 9's @ 150. The Auto:thumbsup:
I'm a manual guy and I do respect the auto and support many auto vs manual arguments except when it comes to the 1/4 mile especially.

Long story short...When I see an auto run 9's I want to shake the cars hand (figuratively) but when I see a manual doing the same I want to shake the cars hand AND the driver.

...simplest way I can express my feelings towards autos running the 1/4.
