19 GT premium, a10, pp1, active exhaust. I have a random groaning noise when driving car and appears to be independent of driving modes. It sounds like its from front and maybe an actuator moving like noise. Any thoughts on origin of noise?

Nobody has ever heard a random groaning/moaning noise? Hate to take to dealership and waist my time, even though car is still under warranty. Car seems to run fine, just a random noise.

Sure, I hear random noises all the time. Can you tell me what they are from?

What you are asking is almost impossible to answer.

I don't know what the noise is from, that is why i was posting. To more clearly define, it happens everytime i drive and sounds like an electric motor/actuator running. The noise is short in duration and does not have any repetitive pattern. Its not a road noise, suspenion, brake, internal engine or interior noise. Not sure what the direct injection pump sounds like or if it would be random. Does not seem to make noise until i drive, but i will pop hood and check with engine idling. I don't think its coming from back of car, so does active exhaust actuator make noise? Would think that an in tank fuel pump noise would be constant, not random. Still thinking its coming from front of car.

Thanks, did not know i had those. This might mean why i have only heard when driving. So then question would be how do you determine if system is acting normal or starting to fail.

Yes to PP1.

Just confirmed, no shutters! When i say random, i mean that it happens everytime i drive, but noise has no periodicity, ie random pattern.

Would think direct injection pump would be continuous, so discounted that.

You don't have a 1/2 dead hooker in the trunk, do you?

No, but i might have run over one.

These cars tend to have several mechanical noises, so you tend to get used to noises.

If it sounds more like a rattle and happens around 2k rpms mostly in lower gears then its quite normal. There's a lot of rattles and ticks on these cars but I can't say Ive heard any groans. If the car is running and working properly I'd say leave it be. If I took my car to Ford everytime I discovered a new noise I'd never get to drive it.

Also when I start hearing a new noise I just drive the car harder for a while and they seem to disappear. These cars really seem to love the abuse!

Not a rattle. It sounds like a groaning/moaning from an actuator. Problem is its random, not continious and only appears to be during driving. Sounds like something is running then stops.

Not sure what kind of actuators are on the engine? Also, don't think it could be a vacuum noise.

Groaning and moaning? Tell you passenger to get out.

You might be hearing the blend door actuators and dampers moving. Do you notice the noise when the climate is set to Auto mode? Put it on manual or shut it off and see if the noise stops.
