I am really hoping that is the case for me as well.
Keep in mind if you ever do go e85 it smells quite pleasant on top of the power increase and added cooling benefits lol

Running without cats stinks, and don't let anyone convince you otherwise, done it once and not going to do it again!

If you daily your car don't do it, if you mostly race it different story then...

After a little digging i found another company that makes epa certified cats. Gesi. They look just like the ones kooks uses but you can get them in different sizes for different power levels. Kooks rates the green cats at 425hp per cat. They are 3"in/3"out with a aol of 7" and 4" body.

Gesi has one im very interested in. It is almost the same size as the kooks other than the body is 4.5" in diameter so only a 1/2 inch bigger and its hp range per cat is 500-850. They are also made in 304 stainless steel

The Gen 2 400 cell versions? I think the 300 cell GESI is the one sold as Green by Kooks.

Yes i ordered the 400 cell gen 2. The one rated for 500-850hp each. Kooks green cats are a little smaller and rated up to 425 each.

I think I might get the 4.5" 400 cell GESI and use V-band clamps to install them on my catless Kooks connection pipes. My plan is to cut out a 7" long section of the catless pipe and weld V-band clamps to it, weld V-band clamps to the cats, and then I can switch from cats to catless in minutes.

Think modern cats are still holding back good power? My old 392 scat pack only would have gained like 3hp, lol. At least with that motor. Not sure how the coyote fairs.

I don't know, keeping the option to switch the cats out only costs about $100 for the extra set of V-band clamps. I plan on ceramic coating everything other than the cats so keeping them removable makes that easier too. I figure ceramic coating cats isn't the best idea.

From what i hear it is a bad idea to coat them as well. I do like the v band idea but i likely wouldnt feel like swapping them out unless i planned a track day and wanted to run leaded gas.

And as close as the cat is to the flange i might opt to remove the ball flange to connect the headers to the connection pipes and make that the front v band.

Correct, don’t coat the cats. They need to radiate the heat to make them live longer.
