Ya I’m weistech tuned. Aftermarket support is not as great and costs a lot. I’m already 10k into this car doing all labor myself. No one runs E85 or tunes for it. It’s all 100 octane and meth, which I hate. Would much rather upgrade fuel system and run e85 than meth. Parts are limited. Figured out really quickly why you don’t see many AMG at the track. Best I’ve done is 3.5 0-60 and 7.3 60-130. I have beat a demon, m5, m8, and huracan. But just disappointed 🤷‍♂️. I’ll need meth and turbo upgrades to be any faster. Really appreciating the Mustang rn 😂. All you have to do is pulley down and get some toyo r888 and you’ll gap his amg 😂

Just wanted to post this as I’ve been very disappointed from my switch to AMG from my Mustang GT. I had a 17 with a Paxton Kit making 650whp with colder plugs, voltage fuel pump booster, on 91 with octane booster vmp tuned. Car had so much potential. Tuning process was so simple. No CEL after the build and the car ran amazing. Sold and bought a C63 amg because I made a solid profit. V8 biturbo engine, threw in intakes, catless downpipes, and 100 octane tune. Barely made 613whp/722 tq. Transmission is the only thing that is better honestly. Tuning process was a nightmare and had 17 misfires and a lot of issues to get to where I am. Genuinely contemplating switching back. Missing my GT. Just thought I’d post. Miss the community. Cheers guys

Hard to beat a coyote in performance/$. I do think out of the German cars a G80 M3/M4 with a down pipe and e85 tune makes for a really nice street car. The S58 motor is just as strong as the coyote. Mid 9s in the 1/4 mile and low to mid 5s 60-130. Horrendous front grille though.

Infotainment is about the same. I like the different mapped options that you can easily modify like suspension, transmission mapping and a few other things. The dash and seats are beautiful for sure. Carbon interior and really pretty leather amg seats. Looks like this

I HATE the way so may car interiors have given up on integrating the center screen and just stuck a screen in the middle of the dash with chewing gum!!

Literally the most basic of ideas. Integrate it into the dash or do something different. Looks like it was slapped up there. Rest of the interior is pretty nice 👍🏼

I actually came from Mercedes to my first mustang. I feel your pain. Merc is a great brand car. The service is awesome but everything about them is insanely expensive. And once you get into AMG land you get even more expensive. I've had the c300 and a C43 both tuned. When stuff goes wrong get ready for some expensive solutions

Kind of hard to compare the cars in my opinion. The Benz for sure makes a better daily driver and has nicer dealerships.

But if you are buying a AMG to make big power and mod it in other ways. Sure the mustang makes a better project car.

I just wanted a fun daily / street car. That’s what I had in my mustang and I hurt a lot of feelings in it. Didn’t necessarily want to make massive power but I enjoy a roll race and thought I could take the platform further but when you really get down to it without meth/ 100 octane and built turbos (which I don’t even mind) it’s a bit difficult on this platform. I get what you’re saying though 👍🏼

I'm ok with the green German grass. I got M2C because Ford dealers near me wanted to add ADM to Mach 1. So glad. I love my M2. Its not the fastest car but I'm not trying to be the fastest out there. For a short wheel base car 410hp is plenty. Its a well built quick and small car that rotates around you. Really fun to throw into corners. The body panels all fit and are aligned. The interior is very analog and I like that. I don't like the design elements of the new M cars so I suppose once I get the itch for another car Ill probably look at getting a Porsche 718 of some sort. I do miss the amazing sound of the Ford 302.

I had a 2016 mustang with a whipple. In 2019, sold it and got into a 718 GTS (4 banger turbo) when an increeible deal came along. The 718 is an incredible car, power is fun for its size and weight. But i missed having 700+ HP, so i added a 2020 PP2 and went whipple. As fun and enjoyable as the 718 is, 700+ HP will be missed if HP is your thing... maybe a 911T could scratct the itch?

Direct Injection (with no port) is what makes the E85 upgrade so costly on most newer cars.

A few get lucky, and have both on board and those are the real hot-rods of the day, since it opens up the possibilities a LOT :)

Obviously the AMG is a MUCH MUCH MUCH better overall car, but if youre singular in your want for power/speed/drag performance, then like it's been said -- there really isn't a more cost effective way to gap your friends than an s550 mustang lol.

They'll go deep 5's or high 4's 60-130 with pretty much any power adder and a DR.

I’d love to own a C63 AMG. I wouldn’t even mod it.

This type of stuff is why I went with the mustang. It seems like every other car either has no support / charges you $10k for E85 and downpipes / the block only takes 700whp before you have to spend another $15k / whp is weak but can't turn it up because too much tq /theres some stupid electronic that wont let you brake boost or do simple things / there aren't many shops around who are great at tunes and building cars consistently. (I see other cars hit the dyno/street and results are all over the place with each tuner. One guy can only run E30 because of this, another can only run E50 because of that, someone else can only do E70...Like damn, can it be setup to just run E85 or not? Making life complicated lol. When it comes to modding, American cars all the way in my opinion. You choose boost, you run 1 fuel, you go play.

Now if we're talking about just having a nice car thats decently quick with no sacrifices...then I'd choose a 2 bolt on lexus/german and leave it alone.
