Thanks for the link.

Can the 3.15 hit 13's in a good day or are all those times from the 3.31 and 3.55 cars? Or do summer tires make a bigger difference? I'm never going to drag in my life probably but it's interesting.

The V6 is for sure a 13 second car, bone stock. That 60' time of 2.1X can be reduced by a lot. I bet if Evan drove that car, he could get it to a 1.9X 60'..that would be a 13.8 run, maybe even a hair faster.

He's say'n 30 mpg!

I'm taking the review to mean he's in an automatic base car w/3.15. What would a comparable eB run? GT?

Nice article and yes the v6 is capable of running in the 13's stock. I got to a 13.9 stock. I can see 13.8 in perfect conditions. Those with 3.55 gears should see 13's with ease.

In that last article it says "Traction control is never fully defeated – no matter how long you press it for."

I thought it was completely off when you press and held for 5 seconds.

Good review, the V6 should definitely hit 13s.

PS: I also thought holding TC off for 5 seconds did the trick, my tires sure do think so. It's impossible to launch my car with any boost.

If the 11-14 cars can hit 13s, there's no reason the 15 cars can't do it. If I remember correctly the v6 gained the least amount of weight

I know the manufacturer doesn't want to hype the V6 Mustang, but the car mags should. This is a great car and with a few modifications it can smoke cars with a much higher pricepoint. Perhaps if enough coverage was given then demand would be higher, prompting Ford to offer a few crumbs in the way of upgrades like perhaps premium audio MFT or leather lol. Oh well.. one can dream.. But I will have all kinds of great stuff on mine over the next few years. I'll upgrade and come out cheaper than a loaded EB.. which will make me happy :)

You forgot to mention the longevity of the V-6...the cyclone engine is bullet-proof, pretty thrifty on regular gas, and because it's naturally-aspirated, it is pretty easy to work on. And Mustangs have had six cylinder engines for all these 50 years! This v-6 engine makes the new 6G Mustang truly a "WORK HORSE"!

Whats the difference with the 3:15 & 3:55? How much would a gear swap cost?

A 3.55 gear will provide more acceleration then the 3.15 gears. A gear swap is expensive unfortunately. I had my 97 gt gears swapped out for around $1000 so I'm assuming the same for my car. The gears are $190 and you will need a bearing kit for for another $80 or so, then whatever the shop charges in labor. You may be able to find it cheaper to get done but I like to go to a mustang specialist shop for all my performance work.

If you are going all in on a gear swap you should just step up to the 3.73s or 4.10s
