so in a car with a key, if you wanted to shut the engine off and just roll back one to acc mode and stay there, it’s doable. is that doable with push button? how can we kill the engine but stay in acc mode without shutting it off completely, having the lights turn on inside, then hitting the button again to go back into acc?

Auto, put it in D, will prevent it from starting, 6sp don't push the clutch in.

yeah i know, i’m saying when you’re turning the car off. let’s say it’s running…and you want to kill engine and go to acc , not fully off. how do you do that

You might try pushing the ignition switch half way or a quarter way in. Just enough to turn on the car,

There is a slight gap from on to start, take notice of that.

Turn the car off, then push the start button with your foot not on the brake. Foot has to be on the brake for automatics engine to start. Maybe just not having your foot on the clutch would work on a manual but you should be able to put the brake on and leave the clutch out then push the start button to get into acc mode without starting the car I think.

yeah i know that. i’m trying to not do that, bc let’s say you’re in the dark somewhere. the second you kil the engine, the lights all come on which is bright as hell lol. then when you tap it once to go into accessory, they go off.

i know how to get the car into accessory

what i’m asking is, can you go directly from engine on, to accessory only, without shutting the entire car off like you can on a car with a key. seems to be the answer is no i presume.

If you want the lights not to come on when the car shuts off then that will need a change to the setting with Forscan to police mode. It kills the puddle lights too though.

If you shut off the engine with the button, and both front doors remain closed, you will be in "retained accessory power" mode. The power windows and radio remain active until one of the doors is opened, or it times out, 10 minutes on mine. Even after it times out, the radio can be turned back on.

That is true for the most part. If I'm on a cell call through Sync Bluetooth, it doesn't shut down until after 30 minutes and it gives a 2 minute visual warning. .

oh! that is interesting. i figured everything was just off because the digital dash goes black as i thought the pony comes up on radio meaning it’s turning off. i will have to look. i just hate how the lights inside all come on and blind you until it times out which is like a min later

A buddy of mine changes all the interior lights to red bulbs for the same reason, they are less blinding.
I don't particularly care for that but it might be something for you to consider.

nah. lol i didn’t think it was much to ask for my new 50k car to work like a beater 1000 dollar car, in that you can easily go from engine on, to turning the engine off but remaining in accessory mode 🤣🤣

The answer is no, there's no nice and clean way to do that.
There is a way, but it isn't nice. Shift into fourth gear, foot hard on the brake, and dump the clutch. When the engine stalls the car will remain in accessory mode.
