I trailer our garbage to the local city dump. 25 dollars to throw all our garbage out. I do that on a weekly basis. When I first started going there, I asked if they had recycling bins and if it was mandatory to separate your garbage. They said no, that recycling is done by choice if we wanted to, but if we threw it all out in the same area it would all get buried the same. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Poor reflection on where you live and the general standards - don't assume all places in the world as poor as where you live

How does that have anything to do with poverty? The fact of the matter is only a very small amount of things are economically recyclable. A few types of glass, clean cardboard, aluminum cans. That's about it. The western world used to pretend plastic waste was recyclable but then just sent it to China. Once they stopped accepting it, now it's back to being garbage.

I believe his point was that if the end user wasn't wiling to recycle what could be recycled, it would just end up in a landfill. Which is probably true regardless of where you are. Other than maybe separating for aluminum cans, why would a waste utility do the work for you? Just increases their costs. And a lot of things that would normally be recycled, won't be if they're contaminated in the main waste stream. Pizza boxes are a good example. Once they're contaminated with pizza grease, they're just destined for a landfill.

No, the problem is, that there’s no money in recycling. If recycling was truly such an important thing, cities and states would fine local city dumps if they didn’t have mandatory recycling. The thing is that people who champion all this BS, think in small ecosystem saving thoughts, where the rest of the world thinks in dollars and cents. Why is it that all these folks who push the “green energy ideas” have private Jets, fleets of limousines, vast collection of cars and mansions that use more energy then majority of humanity?
Perfect example, I love F1 and Lewis Hamilton is a proponent of green ideals. But yet he has a vast collection of very fast cars, a few private jets, has multiple homes all over the world, and he participates in a sport where no matter how you cut it uses more fuel in 1 weekend then majority of the earth’s population uses in a year. And and there’s no end in sight to Formula One.
The simple fact that again those who push this green BS are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites and people who support them are as equally gullible as their hypocrisy and makes for a perfect receipt for disaster.

I believed the lie, it’s ok, I served my nation. Then you figure out that serving your nation comes down to these simple facts. The powerful and rich, who get richer off wars, get people like myself believing in the lie of patriotism freedoms and rights, where those who send people like me to war, believe in a grander scale of riches oppression and world dominance. It’s ok, when you hit that wall it sucks, but the truth shall set you free. For some historical facts. The Bush family helped Hitler with financing his war and Henry Ford built the engines to put in the trucks and tanks that the Nazi used. It’s been like this since WWI.
When you figure out, that these powerful elite, are using people like you to further their agenda, who are the same who used people like me to further their agenda in a different manner, it’ll be like a bad break up at first, but you’ll get over it. Maybe 😂

Sk47 will never have a "position". Last year he was all about "saving the planet". Remember? He said too many people were on earth, that is why he didn't have kids, didn't care if more Americans died of COVID, drove a Toyota, etc....

Couple of posts back he was talking about losing power in his area... like it was a constant occurrence. It was a one-time event... he even apologized because I would not leave it alone. Heck, when I mentioned the power station upgrades in his area, he was surprised.... all he could say was "interesting".

In other words, he has his own "agenda"... it is why he keeps posting the same stuff over and over. It has nothing to do with electricity, EVs, minerals, etc....
Hello; I need to point out bald face lies in your post. I never once stated I did not care if more people died of Covid. Understanding that natural immunity is as good or better than the shots is not wishing for folks to die. My stance on not having kids was called ZPG (zero population growth) which harmed no one.

My power does go off several times a year due to storms taking out trees or car accidents. My TVA area has had only one period of rolling blackouts back around last Christmas during my 75 year lifetime. The only thing common is a smart meter cuts power to the water heater for a bit on some days, not a total power loss to the rest of the house.
That an artic blast of many days stressed my local power grid as it did one time is a concern. That you fail to catch what the word interesting implies is humorous.

You are lying about me.

10 Little-Known Facts About Driving Electric Cars In The Summer (msn.com)

Hello; I knew EV's have a coolant radiator much like an ICE to cool the battery. Saw a TV show about a Nissan Leaf having work done years ago. (Two guys garage maybe) I also knew rapid charging or rapid discharging can generate heat. However, some of the recommendations suggested in the link did surprise me.
Parking an EV in the shade in summer makes sense. I do the same for my current vehicles, when possible, but it is rarely possible.
Driving slower and gentler when over 95 degrees F was new to me. Makes sense of course. Guess using that great acceleration on a hot day may be a no-no?

I get parking and charging in a garage but only those with a garage will be able to do this. I have a stick built open sided carport. My plan if ever forced to have an EV is to have a charger there and not in my basement garage. Better to lose a carport than a house if the EV battery catches fire. Two questions arise.
One is can a home charger be secured in some way so others cannot use it without permission?

Another is how serious is the problem of cold weather charging? I saw where some EV's could not warm the battery pack up enough for charging to take place. My first guess is a lot of electric energy must go into warning up the batteries before charging can take place. Am I wrong in thinking outdoor charging will cost more during the cold nights?

I know to look for a heat pump type heater in an EV. Saves electric energy over resistance heaters. My uninformed guess is that same heat pump will reverse function to act as an AC during hot weather. I was in my mid 30's before having a vehicle with an AC so know it is survivable. Just not much fun.

The Major Problem With One Ford Mustang Model (msn.com)

Hello; Guess EV's do have issues. Makes the claim they are more trouble free may be questionable? They are in ways much more complicated. I sometimes think of a rube -goldberg machine. ( hope that is what they are called) One of those complicated machine constructions with all sorts of parts which in the end do something simple. Maybe an unfair comparison. But all the tech and electronics do seem complex.

The bit about Ford EV's being hard to start and may shut off while running made me think of the recent post about fast charging putting a lot of energy thru the wiring quickly.

States eye new fees and tolls to replace lost gas taxes from electric vehicles (msn.com)

Hello; That EV -hybrids are not paying any or less gas (fuel) tax is not new. That states are adding fees to EV owners is also not new. More detail about the fees in this one. I even get the thinking behind these fees. For decades fuel taxes paid for road repairs and EVs do not buy gas or diesel.

So, two items of interest. One is another expense from owning an EV and a bit for hybrids. Seems fair that a vehicle used on the roads help pay for the upkeep.

The item I did not like is the bit about tolls. If the money shortage is due to more EV's in use then let them make up the shortage. A toll hits all drivers and, in a way, hits a gas/diesel driver twice. One at the pump and again at a toll road.

So there are a couple of more threads on here that need to be killed. Can you help out? :cwl::crackup::like:

Do you honestly think that’s why the thread died? Seriously?

If I were to call you a hypocrite without properly understanding your position, (and misrepresenting your position, aka creating a strawman) then refusing to try and understand your position, or even request that you actually clarify your position, do you think you’d stick around so that you could engage further?

There comes a point where you recognise the futility of the discussion. Person A has decided that person B believes X, despite person B never actually saying that they believe X and frequently pointing out that they don’t in fact believe X. It’s pretty basic logic. It gets tiring.

Worse than that is when they then try and play the victim when you finally get fed up with the lunacy of it, calling them out on their BS.

The same can be said of the anti-vax thread.
No point in engaging with people who use phrases like “plandemic” or who worry about which label is affixed to a vaccine that (by their own admission) is identical to the one with a different label.

Some questions aren’t deserving of answers. Some threads aren’t worth engaging in.

No the fact that those who support the green agenda are as gullible as those of us who went to war is a perfect example of the same powerful elite playing the two sides of a coin. But they can keep believing they are making a change much like I did.😂👍🏼🤣

Hello; Some possibilities include they came to their senses and now understand the issue better. They all have put us on ignore and have retreated to a safe space. They took the most recent Covid shot and are sick for a few days as I was after the second shot. They are living entirely without electricity in order to save the planet.

Truth is I only suspect one of the above to have any chance of being valid. But in truth i do not know what happened.
