"Scientists dismissed the Covid-19 lab leak theory because they wanted to continue doing dangerous “gain-of-function” experiments to make viruses more deadly, a University of Oxford scholar has claimed.

Anton van der Merwe, a professor of molecular immunology, said that scientists involved in similar work as the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the laboratory implicated in the lab leak, were worried that a ban would be reimposed on such testing."

Whichever of those drive action is the MOST important. Pretty much all the resent and current messes are due to people with wrong opinions and blinders on to the facts calling the shots.

I'm not sure if you misunderstand me. Opinion is worthless without facts and evidence. An uninformed opinion is a total waste of space.

Hello; There are facts and opinions to be sure. However, another key term is interpretation. It would be great if we all could have a base set of facts to work with. Starting with good facts would be a more ideal way to go about working out challenging situations.
Of the three, opinion is the lesser. We all likely have heard the old saw about opinions and A-holes. One thing i have noted is a tendency by some to label as opinion what is actually a different interpretation of the available facts.

An example may help. There are sets of facts surrounding the capacity of electrical power generation systems and also about the understood massive increase in demand for electric power if the EV agenda goes forward. My take (interpretation) is the combined anti-fossil fuel agenda combined with the pro-EV agenda will result in a power grid system not able to meet demand. To dismiss that take as mere opinion is not realistic. I recently posted a link with resource consumption estimates for only one small country (UK) That estimated that to build all the wind generators and batteries needed to have green power and only EV's would require all the earths production of some resources for periods of years. Not a mere an easily dismissed opinion, but a valid interpretation of understood facts.

See we won’t see eye to eye even when I’ve tried to give an olive branch, given you a just due, you slap it out of my hand, explaining away that your views links and opinions garner more weight, then anyone else on this thread opposite your ideology. But I’ve seen bigger men with larger egos fall. They all do. Heck even Satan fell and he was the most beautiful and smartest of Gods creations.
