From my experience:

For the MT82:
3:31
Pros:
Can hit 60 in second gear
Can go through the ÂĽ mile traps in 4th gear
Higher top speed
MPG’s
Cons:
Feels sluggish/soft
Doesn’t feel like enough gear
6th gear too low

3:55
Pros
Can hit 60 in second gear
Can go through the ÂĽ mile traps in 4th gear
The perfect gear on stock tire size
Cons:
None lol, perfect rear gear for the MT82 gearing imo.

3:73
Pros
Should be the quickest on a taller tire
A little livelier than the 3.55’s
6th more useable
Cons
More shifting
Barely hits 60 in second
Need to shift into 5th going through the ÂĽ mile traps
Less traction in first
Lower top speed
Less mpg’s

I have the 3.31s and would add as a pro the gas mileage is awesome. Doing 80 on the interstate keeps me steady at 2k rpms I'm averaging around 29-30 mpgs on the highway. I can confirm the rest of the stuff on this list I've noticed as well.

Edit: whoops didn't see the MPGs on there above the cons oh well

I'd advise test driving all 3 to see which suits you liking and needs.
If you are planning on going F/I, 3.31's would be great with it's broader powerband.

I can cross the finish line in 4th with 3.73's before hitting the rev limiter.

Honestly, if anyone thinks the 3.31s make the car feel sluggish, I think you need your perception of speed recalibrated. Go drive a normal car (family sedan) and tell me that a 3.31-equipped GT is remotely close to sluggish. I'm not saying it's the best choice for everyone's needs, but the car is certainly VERY quick. The mileage on the highway is a very nice bonus.

Guilty! My perception of speed is very different than most people. I have 4.10's in my '14 GT automatic and had 4.56's in my '11 GT MT-82. My '14 GT runs mid 11's in the 1/4 mile, so '11-'15 Mustang GT's with 3.31 gears feels very sluggish to me. 3.73's would be the absolute minimum I would recommend with the MT-82 transmission if staying naturally aspirated.

Haha well at least you realize it! I'm coming from driving NA 4 cylinders and the occasional bout in a turbo 4. This thing with a 3.31 is leagues faster than either of those.

The 3.73 feels perfect for me but I'm coming from other cars with short gears.
had to shift to 3rd in both Subaru Sti and Honda S2000 to get to 60. The sti was slightly modded and would do 0-60 in 3.8 sec even with the extra shift it was a beast.

Subaru Sti had 4.10
Honda S2000 also had 4.10

I would have to agree.

I came from a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 with a big turbo GTX 3071 with full bolt on. It also had 4.10

I think poeple who dislike 3.73 are out of their minds it's a great setup. Loads of power all over!

I'm coming from an MS3 myself and found the short gearing annoying, lol.
My 2015 GT is my 4th coyote and I've had the 3.31's 3.55's and 3.73s.

The 3.31's felt like it needed more gear, 3.73's felt like a tad too much gear and the 3.55's feel like the perfect match for the MT82 gearing, (Goldilocks gear :) IMO.

It should say 3.55 option on your window sticker. If says nothing you have the dreaded 3.31's (just kidding)
Under the car there should be a sticker on the differential that says the gearing.
Also on the door jam under gearing ( I think) says DD for the 3.55's and BB for 3.31.
