Prices are really heading down on crude today. As the globe questions the overinflated economy, oil is dropping like a rock over recession concerns.

The cheapest Premium here went from $5.59 to $5.29 overnight. Regular dropping, but more steadily.

That takes some gonads. I would know my hose was not flowing gas. Would be a bad say for the thief.

First he'd get a gas bath.

Just saw this, I suspect we will start seeing more stories like this. EV's are disposable.

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/florida-family-drives-electric-car-015321808.html
Hello; This is a little reported issue with EV's but is common with most computer tech. That being the tech of a few years back becomes obsolete. I reported before how my student neighbor had a similar issue with an early Ford hybrid. The electric regeneration portion of the hybrid had failed. She could still drive it on the ICE but the system was not charging the battery. I often wondered how the extra weight of the batteries and other components hurt gas mileage after the battery part of the hybrid went away (failed).

I keep harping on this in many posts and will do so again. There are a number of issues which the true believers keep telling us will be worked out some day. This link is a current example of how some day did not happen soon enough for this family. According to many posts I have read on here the battery issues will be fixed someday.
The lesser irony of the story is beyond the cost of the battery pack. That lesser irony is that battery tech sems to have moved on and there is nothing available at any cost.

Seems the first owners get to pay a premium for an EV over an ICE and will have a warranty period to count on. After that a second or third owner takes a chance on a used EV. I can think of two things off hand.
First is someone clever at making apps ought to make an app that tracks used batteries for things such as availability, cost and some measure of practicality. That way someone looking at aa used EV may learn which vehicles are worth taking a chance on and which have out of stock/date battery tech.
Second is the used car dealers will not miss these things. They will quickly adjust to the market conditions and may refuse to take in an older EV at other than junk prices. OH. OH. I know donate them to PBS.
Gets back to my example of the old Sony BETA movie tape machines and the VHS machine struggles. Some who bought the BETA wound up will a fine machine and no product they could use with it. The EV's need to be standardized in some ways. From plug in to how battery packs are packaged. Some arrangement will win out over time and the others will wind up being trash. Do you feel lucky with an early EV choice? Wonder if Ford will keep parts stocked ten or 20 years from now for the Mach E?

SUPRISE ! just one of the dirty little secrets LMAO

Stay tuned
A 2014 EV Focus is a piece of crap - not a good representative of EVs. Anyways, battery warranties are 8-10 years or more so this won't be an issue for new purchases
