This article is a hoot.

I do agree with one thing though, if you are going to have "free" public charging stations you need "free" public gas and diesel pumps right next to them.
So who exactly put the free chargers there in the first place? Who’s footing the bill? The politician who is sponsoring the bill is a moron (aren’t they all?), but I agree that whomever is footing the bill for the electricity should help us ICE folks as well.

I see you must be talking to somebody I ignore, but we have free chargers at some locations in the UK. Supermarkets often have them for the use of customers (effectively makes the trip to the shops free travel) and some carparks include it in the parking charge. Often these are connected to PV's to keep the running costs to a minimum.

Understood. But the issue is who is paying for the "free" electricity. If it is a private concern then there really is no discussion. But in this instance I believe the "free" is being paid for by the government, i.e. the taxpayer. Honestly, that I have an issue with.

Gotcha! Whatever happened to the old adage “while I may not agree with what you have to say I’ll defend to the death your right to say it!” Now it’s your some kind of phob if you don’t believe what I believe! It’s sad!

That went away some time ago. Now we have cancel culture.
