What do you think about motorcycles? Do you think those will ever be electrified?
Cars can fit a thousand pounds batteries under the driver. But bikes small. I just ordered a 15k bike but part of me says, damn what if a year or few years one comes out that’s literally a monster a crazy range.
I’m skeptic though due to motorcycles frame size
Go ride a Zero if you can. A friend has a Zero FX, and I've ridden it a couple of times. The thing is a total blast, lightweight with a ton of grunt. Range isn't fantastic if you're ham fisted with the throttle like me, but it would be more than adequate for a commuter. I want one, but my bike want list far exceeds my available space beyond the bikes that I currently own...

Just peaked at their website I have never heard of them. I’d want the zero sr/s if I got one. I currently ordered the 2022 gsxs1000 gt+. I got 750 off msrp and out the door for 14.9k

I’ve been waiting on it since pre order October. I guess prices are increasing April 1st and prob more next year too. But I should be locked in on pricing.

maybe in another 5 years those sportbikes will be better then petrol and longerdistance. The sr/s said 22k before tax. Ouch

Hello; may be old news but I read that India is continuing to buy Russian oil. It may be that with China buying Russia will sell plenty.
The positive thing may be that since oil is a world traded resource the Chinese and Indians will not be competing for the other oil on the world market. May help settle the speculation on oil prices some.

Gas prices here in MB are dropping daily. Hope to see it go below $4 soon.

I hope that's the case, because I am reading that it could be over 100 bucks a barrel for months to come.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Well given that RU currently blocking 400 ships form leaving the Black Sea with various critical exports it's pretty easy to block oil & gas exposts to adversarial parties causing prices for those parties to increase exponentially.

I have money on $200 oil by Sept haha.
Too bad you sold all of your oil stocks and bought the cruise ships. You can cruise the Black Sea now. 👍

Hello; Some depends on the green energy agenda versus how much fear high gas prices will hurt in the polls. My take is if the thinking is the public will accept continued high fuel and shipping inflation then nothing will be done in terms of policy about USA energy production.

Currently a " blame it all on Putin" strategy is being floated. I do not see that working since gas was already up well over a dollar/gal before the Ukraine invasion. Some will buy into the ploy but most will see thru that.

I figure the more extreme haters of fossil fuel use are pleased with the high fuel costs as they stand. Heck, if the EV vehicles and electric supply issues were already worked out the prices are already high enough to have me looking at an EV grocery getter. Several things make this premature for me. The cost of the EV's being a big one. There are a number of other issues.

Thing is the oil is not gone. The amount is not depleted in the sense we have used up that which is practical to produce. The countries and companies with oil might like to keep the oil high in order to reap a big profit. Thing is if they do so too long an economic recession or even worse depression can happen.
Some time not too many years ago I read that oil around $70 a barrel was a sweet spot for oil companies. I get that during the policy driven pandemic shutdowns and restrictions the price of a barrel got too low to be profitable to recover. I do not know if we will get back to $2/gal any time soon. I do think the current price will lead to serious economic issues.

This summer may be very painful. I do not have a crystal ball as to when fuel will be down. I hope the cost comes down sooner and hope it is not because flawed policy has driven us into an economic depression.
Some politicians are taking this opportunity to declare a 'climate emergency' to further the green agenda. You know the one that kills our economy and every more efficient ICE vehicles, and lets the worlds worst polluters off the hook. Wait a minute, the Paris accords also in addition to constraining us, had(has) us paying into a fund to encourage countries like India and China, etc to build their 'clean energy'.

And to make matters worse, they would have us buy oil from our global strategic 'enemies' rather than our allies and neighbors. Why the H#!! we would want to import Russian, Iranian, Venezuelan, or Saudi Oil rather than Canadian and American is beyond me......

If we really want clean energy, it's time to split atoms............

Maybe to use up their resources. Sometimes when you play a long game the immediate play does not make sense. Second, look at the previous history to understand how you arrived to a particular situation (i.e. doing business with a certain country).

There may or may not be a climate emergency but the war in Ukraine has nothing to do with it. I’ve read nothing to indicate that anyone is tying the two together.

OK, you really need to get your facts in order before posting. And by the way Saudi Arabia is not considered an enemy.

Not long ago I would have called you on this but not today. I’ve learned that modern nuclear plants are extremely safe and very efficient. But I’m afraid the past will prevent nuclear from ever becoming a option again.

Diesel is as cheap as $3.65 as of yesterday in the Chicago area, which is normally pretty high.
