Happens to me too...full-serve is the law here in NJ, it's always fun explaining to the attendant that he needs to pump upside down if it doesn't work. I have found it seems to be the same stations though so someone's point about GPM makes sense.

How do NJ residents feel about not being able to fill up their own gas? I've never seen those attendants on the highway ever use the gas cap holder. They always just slam it against the paint. Cringe... At least the no fuel cap helps you out.

In the rain and snow and cold I don't mind, but when your car is freshly washed their dirty fingers always seem to touch more than the gas cap.

I moved from NY where I pumped my own gas for my whole life, it's been a adjustment. I'd rather do it myself honestly.

I worked in Jersey for 12 years and only had someone put a gas cap on my car once. We had words. As I later discovered from another gas station employee that walked over to investigate the "conversation", they are supposed to put gas caps on top of the gas pumps, not customers cars. I put conversation in quotes because even though said words were normal in Jersey, they would have been considered nothing less than a vile profanity laced tirade almost anywhere else. Those were bad days. Road rage everyday and bad traffic all the time during super long commutes. I don't miss them.

This happens to me when I fill up at stations with older pumps.

I have that same issue with 16 GT. Happened every single time at the first gas station I used to go to. That gas station has had that "replace fuel pump" sign for years and still have not been replaced as of today. I started going to another that upgraded their pumps and haven't had a problem since.
