Does anyone understand it?? I am tired of it. It seems like a cool idea but every time i fill up i can never leave the nozzle by itself when I let go it stops. Ive tried different ways what am I doing wrong??? It is frustrating to say the least.

When you go to the gas station you insert the gas nozzle you hold the lever with your hand then you flick the small "clamp" so you no longer have to hold the lever and you walk away from it and when you tank is full it stops. Every time i let go of it it stops

When you first start pumping, gently pull the handle to get the flow of gas started. Slowly increase pressure on the handle over like 10 seconds until it's fully depressed. At that point, flip up the lever to hold it in place. Make sure you are putting the nozzle fully into the filler hole as well. I have never had a problem when following those steps.

Be sure the nozzle is in as far as you can get it. I had a problem the first two times I got gas but figured out that I didn't have the gas pump nozzle in far enough, which kept causing the pump to stop.

Oh. Where I live, those clips are all disabled on the self-serve pumps... you have to hold them yourself the whole tank.

I push the nozzle all the way in and it slides it at time so I have to hold it I'll make sure it's all the was in next time. I thought it had to do with the cap less thing

^this
Seriously, try starting with a slow, low flow. After about 10 seconds or so try and lock it in.

I only have the problem at certain stations, maybe the clamp mechanism on the pumps are slightly different. Although I primarily only use Chevron. I'd say about 30% of the time I need to hold it. It is a PITA, but being it is only an inconvenience every 3 or 4 days, and only for about 5 minutes, I'll just deal with it for now.

People reported similar problems with 2011's when they 1st came out with the cap-less system, but I've never had the problem, nor did I notice any problem when I had a 2015 EB Rental for a week.

Most fuel nozzles have more than one flow stop and what I've found to work everywhere is to run it one notch down from maximum flow. Maybe some pumps are faster than others and the Mustang's fill tube can't keep up when at the maximum flow on these faster flow pumps.

Give it a try !!
