The amount of UV light from a fluorescent is a fraction of what the car sees out in the sun, So probably not once, it would take a lot of time to see any kinds of damage probably.

You could always mix in some sun block into your wax, if you are worried about it.

Not sure how much it affects the paint on the car, but both fluorescent and led lights will cause bleaching on cardboard and laminated (anti-uv) paper. I work at a retail pharmacy and we were testing out undershelf lighting to illuminate the products. The tops/fronts of packages, and the price tags below the items were bleached within a few months of 24/7 on. Also, various acrylic parts throughout the store turn yellow within about a year under fluorescent lights (14 hours on / 10 hours off per day).

Not trying to be a troll OP, but why would you leave the lights on in your garage all night? Seems like a waste of electricity.

On an actual troll note, you should probably cover your car up every time you park it outside to shield it from the UV rays..... or consider sunsceen instead of wax.......

Their florescent tube replacement LEDs are so much brighter, with a crisp, clean, white light (vs the orange of the fluorescent) and they run a lot cooler with less wattage. I have been very happy with them.

Interesting. I would not have thought flourescents
would be so damaging.

Fluorescent light uses electric current to excite the gas (mercury vapor) which produces an ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT that causes the phosphor to glow. What part of that doesn't sound damaging?!

All night, no. All day, every day for a year... maybe.

I had enough light in my garage at my last house to land an airplane and worked through the night dozens and dozens of times on numerous cars and nobody had faded paint.
