does anyone elseā€™s brembo caliper look like this? How did you fix it?

Iā€™ve tried cleaning, different wheel cleaners, agitating it all, cleaning again, brake dust cleaning products of all sorts. Iron removers etc.

I want to fix it and ceramic coat them. It drives me nuts. These things are 3 months old at most. I wash the car the day after it rains or every week. Cleaned the dust off immediately after HPDE.

They look like tarnished or covered in water spots. Maybe itā€™s just me being OCD? šŸ˜‚

Youā€™re expecting more gloss? I donā€™t think theyā€™re a glossy finish. More of an anodized finish.

Not so much gloss. Just not the tacky water spot look. I did just apply some of my wheel Armour to the calipers and they so far look better

Iā€™ll see if I can dig up a picture from when they were new so you can see what I mean

Hopefully this clarifies the difference. Both of these were when I installed them. Vs the original post

From memory, they are anodized rather than painted. I wish Ford had painted them.

These were mine after ceramic coating. The before and after was not night and day, again due to the anodized finish.

Looking at your first post, yes they look a bit off. The pics with the coating look brilliant to me. Are you happy with them now?

So far yes. Iā€™ll wait to see in the daylight tomorrow. Did not know that it wasnā€™t paint until now. Thought it was just satin finish to be honest. Just wanted to be able to clean it and have it look closer to the way it was when I got them.

on a similar note - hoping that g techniq wheel Armour helps me keep the wheels looking better too. Iā€™ve developed a hate for brake dust recently šŸ˜‚

If possible, allow the coating to cure before driving the car. Otherwise, apply a Si02 spray sealant (Reload, Cure or similar) over the top to help prevent spotting on the coating.

The instructions from g techniq suggest 12 hours before exposure to the elements. I will probably make that 24

Considering you have used Gtechniq, I would use their C2v3 for the protective layer. Do that to your wheels as well. It's been noted that brake dust on freshly applied coatings can cause dotting, mainly during the first two weeks while the coating is fully hardening. The C2v3 (or similar) will protect against this, and wet weather, during that time.

I cleaned mine and did 2 layers of CarPro DLUX ceramic - they look great! I had the car in winter storage so they cured for a couple of months but in your case I'e let it cure for 2 days at least

And I did create my own covers for the rear brakes to match the front ones - those are painted with the most matching gray and then cleacoated and coated with ceramic
