Yes that sounds like an awesome drive regardless of octane. If your running Top Tier 87 you probably do not need the Techron but since its cheap enough why not? You may also need more than one tank of 93 to actually feel anything. I'm still running 93 only since my car is basically a weekend cruiser. My wife spends more at Starbucks then I do on gas.Just to honor this thread... Yesterday was going on a all day demanding drive up mountains down mountains on some of the areas most demanding roads. 2000 plus feet elevation changes and over 500 curves in total. I have Driven nothing but 87 since my second tank of gas. But my last tank before this one I filled up 87 but also put in a bottle of tekron which is rated as one of the best fuel additives (same stuff as in pump gas) ran it out. Then with clean slate filled up with 93 pure non ethanol gas. Had a good 20 miles before the days hard driving for everything to adjust to the gas. Everyone asked me if any difference? Honestly no... I seriously can't see or feel any difference. I mean sure on paper there is a few hp or some other numbers but it's not enough to spend the extra money.
I still say just use good 87, then maybe once every 5k miles put in a bottle of top tier additive, Not cleaner but the stuff the gas companies sell bottled that is the same additives they put in the pump gas. And your wallet will thank you at the end of the year.
