Anyone know why the Mustang no longer has weatherstripping around the windshield? It does not seem to affect wind noise. Just looks a bit unfinished and might be harder to keep clean.

I noticed that newer Audi's have a special molding onthe inner A pillars to force any excess water over the roof instead of across the side windows. Possibly the absence of weatherstripping was intended to obtain a similar aerodynamic effect?

My Jetta had the same exact thing on it's front and rear glass. Kind of a pain for me, since I have cedar trees and they shed little bits that like to find their way into that gap. I have to vacuum it out frequently.

pretty much most cars have glass laid on top of glue..

had the windshield replaced on my 10 mazda speed3. the guy was great, cut the glue under the glass. pulled up glass. cleaned the frame.. put in new glue, almost like a caulking gun.. laid new windshield..
