Hey guys,

Does this USB port operate differently that the one in the center console? When I plug my phone in, it does not charge or register but when I plug my phone into the center console it will charge and link the phone to the car as well... Am I missing something or is this common on other stangs?

Both ports charge my phone quickly.

Both charge mine although I find it's not a fast enough charge for me when streaming Pandora or anything else, I prefer to use my fast charge car charger.

Ok, thanks guys, I know for sure then that I need to take it in.

So random, I've already had a few issues already...

Did you try plugging any other kind of USB device into the port to verify it has power and works?

I use a tablet for my work that requires a minimum of 2.1 amps.. The dash USB is useless for charging the tablet. The console USB tries to keep up the charge but eventually the tablet shuts down. I bought a 'cigarette' USB port for the console outlet. It displays both VDC and the amp output. It can feed up to 3.1 amps. So I now use it to keep up the tablet charge. The amp output on the dash USB port is definitely less than the amperage from the console!

Ok good to know, I did the same, I'm going to plug some other USB items in to see if there is any difference before I jump the gun and take the car to the dealer. I know I'm being really picky but I just want it to be right!
