Now, we just need the rears!
Now that we have started, no one can stop us (not even those stupid European regulations)! I am sure that someone will be the first to do this mod and it we will see it in this forum!

Hi Makstang, as John mentioned I used 3M 04748 2k urethane glue. It is hard as rock after 5 minutes. For the Dremel I used a thin blade for metal.
Can you tell me the link to the store where you bought it?
I searched Amazon and on eBay and I do not find it.:frusty:

Thanks

Probably you can find it (or a similar product) at a hardware shop.

You don't need a large cutout the Leds slide in over the pins easy, then with a little araldite glue on the pins its done.
Banditvox: Wich LED boards did you use? IΒ΄m not really interested in switchbacks, only want the DRL.

The 3M is difficult to order for only 1 piece.
Most body shops use this product. Probably you can borrow it for a weekend.

Just ordered a set of used USA taillights but I will definitely need help from EricB and Papinist.
I will update on this forum of course.

I made several glue-samples on my headlights.
It is made of a strange type of plastics.
Third-best was Araldite, Second-best is 2k repairglue for bumpers but 3M 04748 was excellent!

The led boards are the US ones from a crashed car. I was lucky a year ago to get one light sent to Australia then was able to get another. I started with the colours DD lights but they went really a bright white so i pullout the led boards from the US light and the factory drivers, re wired the driver to work with our cars. The US lights just art bright enough so i pulled them out and install reinstalled the DD brighter new led boards but had problems with there drivers so i rewired the US Driver to work with DD lights and now works fantastic.
One big advantage with the cutting of the lights from the bottom is that you can re do the lights your self at any time. It is a pain to remove the bumper but its not that hard.

Bazzie as far as the LED boards are concerned, in order to stick them in position, can't we use epoxy, as suggested on DD instructions?

Also, to stick the piece you cut out from the back of your headlights back in position, I guess your second best choice (2k repair glue for bumpers) would work just fine, isn't it?

You should go for the best result! Headlight are too expensive.
I used a bit of hot-glue to set de led boards on position, then test first before glueing the bottom side of the boards with 2k (same glue as you use for the cutout).

I would advise you to go to your local body shop and ask for a 2k product that can be used for repairing clips on headlights. My body shop told me there are similar products from Teroson/Locktide but 3M is best by far.

3M maybe has an alternative (8005) but it's yellow and I don't have experience with it.....
