If you watch this video, on the 1-2 shift you can see the nose come down fast.
Guess I need a front strut with adjustable compression correct ? Or is that purely the spring ? Any recommendations ?

I'm not a drag guy, but I'll try to help.

First, what goes up... must come down. Gravity and your springs determine how high the nose is going to go and how much its going to try to dip (below normal) when it comes back down.

Actually the amount of weight transfer is like 90% from your accelerations in 1st and 2nd, not from the body position, but as the nose hits, the shocks dampen that hit probably does affect the momentary weight on all four corners.

Sounds like ideally you do want a double adjustable shock so that you can get more front compression than a street car would want.

Edit: The article specifically mentions front compression to cure the front bouncing. That's probably because what happens *during* the shift isn't as important as what happens as your starting to apply power in 2nd gear.

Yes, you want to be able to dial in compression, might want a taller and softer spring up front as well

So my drag mechanic says generally less front shock than street... or dual adjustables.

Generally speaking, money spent on cheap coilovers is money wasted.

Those are lower and stiffer than stock. probably not ideal for a drag setup. You want softer springs in the rear and lower stiffer fronts are not going to help load up rear grip for the launch.

Also they don't seem to be dual adjustable, so you cant increase compression while softening rebound (if you increase the stiffness to get more compression at the 1-2 shift, you'll just add too much rebound for the launch). So IDK, I'd pass.

Oh, I didn't know those were a cheap version .
Price aside, check out the.Viking Crusaders, they’re a more drag oriented coilover and probably much better spring rate and valving for a drag car.

If you want a lower, stiffer suspension then we can point you in a better direction than those peddlers.

Not looking for a huge drop ... maybe 1" drop ... stock height is also fine by me.

Is drag your only goal, or are you looking for something else out of the street performance?

70% street , 30% drag racing ( at the track) .
I think I'd look for a good Viking vendor like maybe Beefcake, give them a call and let them walk you through your options. Those guys love to go fast in a straight line and I've had good luck getting advise from them on a couple occasions.

a double adjustable like a viking coil over will give you so much control compared to , feel free to dm me or give us a shout
