I like to disassemble things.
You mean included in the list of parts necessary to complete the recall or are you asking if they are covered due to abrasion?

Yea, warranty would only cover a defect in workmanship or materials. Scraping your splitter and expecting a new one isn't going to fly.

Those rivets probably are not replaceable. I have an extra splitter lying around and took a good look at them. If you can find that rivet, all the better, but good luck.....

Are these fasteners not covered by warranty?
SURE! if they are defective. But not if you damage them while driving. These will not be part of the hardware kit for the cooler lines as they are reusable. And if they are not due to condition then you probably will foot the bill unless you have a generous dealer.

Chances are if a screw here or there needs to be replaced, they will probably do it gratis. However, those rivets are an integral part of the splitter. if you want them to be replaced, either find the rivet and do it yourself or buy a new splitter. I don't think the rivets were designed to be replaced.

Don't know what you guys are running over to damage the screws. I had my belly pan and splitter off last week, a few of the forward rivets are ground almost flush and all have been scraped, but the screws are mostly untouched. I have a transition in my drive that creates a good dip, that is where I get most of my splitter damage.
The rivets should be able to be drilled out and replaced with regular 3/16" steel rivets. I will try this and report back next time I pull the front splitter.

How much did you get the splitter for? if you dont mind me asking
Sorry I missed this. I was quoted $985.18 plus whatever shipping worked out to be. That means dealer cost is just under $900.

Rivets and their layout. Two piece design. You might be better off replacing the splitter when the time comes. Thinking outside the box, you could choose to use round head screws and nuts to replace the rivets (if you cannot find them) if you cant bear to spend the (approximate) $300 to $400 for a new splitter.

Autonation thinks they have found the torx hardware and is sending them out today. When I get them and confirm they are right I will update the post here.

They sell the rivets but you need a large rivet tool. None of the ones Home depot, Ace or Harbor Freight had would fit. Once I am done of anyone wants to borrow the tool I am happy to send it.

How much for the rivets and the tool? I think at work we have a rivet gun that will pull those.

I have the exact same rivet gun. It'll do multiple size rivets.
