I've had a couple cars that drag attention (like our mustangs) and I always leave the front plate off, and don't let them drill holes. I've been pulled over a handful of times and either given a fix it, or just a warning and a quick hassling. Slap that shit on with 3m or zip ties, get it written off, and pull it off again. It just ruins the front look of the car especially the s550 to have it on there.

Definitely! CHP is so chill that they don't even exit the building, They look outside quickly and sign it off. Such a minimal offence that it's not worth their time.

My 2013 looked aggressive as hell and that was partially due to the fact that there was no ugly front plate!!

Mine didn't have the holes drilled yet. When I bought the car the salesman asked if I wanted them to drill the holes. I said no way!
In Maryland they will absolutely stop you for not having front tags.
I found a no drill front license plate bracket from Craig's Custom Mustang Bracket and it has been working awesome. Absolutely no holes drilled, very secure and you can easily take it off whenever you want. Highly recommended!

Any pics of this? I thought sto n show was my only option.

From my experience if you show up and pick out a car that just arrived and is still sitting out back without being prepped and rush the deal they will clean it up real quick and just leave the front plate holder in the trunk.

Thought about getting the Sto n sho. Can anyone provide feedback on this one? Is it ok that the LP sits that low?

How does that screw mount onto the bumper? I like the position of the LP but I don't like to look at that screw sticking out. Is that 3M tape?

The bracket mounts to the underside of the bumper with 3M ultra adhesive tape. Are you referencing the screws that attach the license plate to the bracket? I plan to get a license plate frame and use black screws (same color as the frame) to attach the license plate to the bracket. There are no screws that go into the bumper. I haven't installed it yet, but this is my understanding form what I have read and examining the bracket after I received it.

Craigs Custom Brackets

I initially bought the sto-n-sho but returned it before I installed it. I found Craig's Custom Brackets and bought one of those. It mounts higher on the bumper. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...zBqCr5UYBMDeeydDbBcGZow&bvm=bv.88198703,d.cGU
Just ordered mine. Will take pics once it is installed. I like it better than the Sto N sho. It looks easy to install and the plate can quickly be removed if you want to take it off. I like that the plate sits higher as well.

When I found out about the Craig's Custom Brackets, I liked the idea that the LP would be mounted in its usual position - about mid-bumper rather than down low. I was afraid that you could rip off the sto-n-sho bracket if you got the bottom of the bumper up over a parking curb. I had seen some other comments about this concern as well. I also saw a strength test of the 3M ultra-adhesive tape used for the Craig's Custom Brackets. They rigged up something where they put a 35 pound load on the adhesive strip and it held solid. Obviously that's a lot more stress than the front LP will ever experience. As with anything, there are always pros and cons. If you are more comfortable with a bracket that is attached with nuts and bolts then the sto-n-sho is probably the right solution for you. Good luck!

JohnK, what made you decide to return the sto n sho before you install it?
Imo (after watching YouTube video of sto n sho being installed) seems like a way more reliable and lasting system?
If you never get the front of your car over a curb that is high enough to hit the Sto-n-SHo (but still not quite high enough to hit the air dam), then it should be fine. In the real world, I cannot imagine it not eventually and multiple times 'accidentally' hitting a curb.:headbonk:

I take back what I had said about not getting tickets for no front plates.

Maybe I got lucky for my 2013 Mustang.

In the 2015 Mustang, I got a ticket for no plates on 2/2/15

I attached them to my crashed Mustang Bumper before reparing it, Then got it signed off through CHP, Made the repairs and left the front plate off...

I just got another ticket for no front plate on 3/15/15

So I ended up buying this just now :

So I can go correct it and put the plate up whenever I get pulled over or park my car in a public place... -_-

Two questions. Are you concerned at all of scraping the plate and bracket off on a curb or parking strip? What do you think the officer will say when he pulls you over for no front plate and you 'now' have the plate up? I'd guess they are aware of motorized plates. I'm curious if he would still write you up because you 'did' have no plate when he saw you. I am anxious to hear that story. :)

Officer, I stopped speeding after you saw me, what's the biggie? ;)
