Since you live in MA, is it not legal there to run w/o a front plate? Most states don't bother out of staters.

In NH, it depends how bored the cops are. I have a Sto N Sho and sometimes "forget" to put the plate back on - no issues so far.

I want to put headers on the car but in socal that's like playing with fire. you may get away with it for a while, but eventually you will get burned.

MA requires it's residents to have front plates.

VA requires a front plate as well. This is how I feel about it...

That being said I was never pulled or written for it.

The opposite here.
Thought it was a black-car issue, I had 2 black Mustangs and both times I'd get pulled every time I rolled without the plate. Made no difference, city, county, DPS whatever. Tried with my silver MX-5 and managed to go a couple of months before being tagged for no plate.

Not even trying with this one. The dealer installed the mount, so I'm running with the plate. They've beat the plate-fight out of me.
They must be hard about it in DFW, I've never had a problem in Houston

I'm riding dirty every day. So far 3 months no troubles.
Me too, 3 months / 6K miles and no issues. I also have 35% tint all the way around.

I've own my '07 F150 since new and have been driving it w/out a front license plate. I've been stopped twice for no license plate. Last time was over 4 years ago. It's only a fix a ticket here in CA worth $35. If I get ticketed I see it as a small donation to the City. No biggie.

However, it's only a small excuse to pull you over and then go over your car and or driving/criminal record. If you have nothing on you, I say go for it and remove the plate. but If you have something to hide. Put it on, don't draw more attention to yourself.

I got pinged for tint and front plate driving through NoVA. I installed the show n go holder and I'm happy enough with it.
That's NoVA for you. Or all of VA really.

I have a sto-n-sho bracket. I keep my plate in the trunk. 5 months and no problems here in Illinois. If I get pulled over I'll just say I was at a show and forgot to put it back on.

That's my plan as well. Mine is the Craigs bracket.

So what happens if you come from a state that doesn't require a front plate and visit a state that does require it? Would you still get a ticket?
As long as you are riding legally with your state's setup you will be fine in another state.

Houston cops are pretty laxed about it. I see plenty cars riding dirty going right by cops and the cops could care less. Mind you, most of these cars are high-end rides so a ticket isn't gonna hurt them and the cops know this.
I have heard however that if you do get pulled over for something else, usually speeding, they'll tack on a little extra for having no front plate. Only issues I've heard of so far.

I got pulled over last night for doing a hard 1st through 3rd coming out of a town center. Cop was at least 100 feet behind me but came up hard on me and pulled me over (he heard me he stated lol). Took my info then charged me with a $50 ticket for having a rear license plate bracket that partially obscured the words "garden state" on my NJ plate........but not a thing about not having a front plate LOL.

In the 6/7 years I had my 2 stangs w/o a plate up front I may have gotten pulled over 3 or 4 times. Not once was this brought up by the officer. I even got a "nice car" comment from an officer as well who ticketed me for speeding and There is no doubt he had to notice no plate.

If you give me a ticket, at least make it sound legit (and legal lol)
