Front Fender Fit?

Had a look at an OW in a dealer showroom, couldn't help but notice that two of the forward fender mounting bolts (left and right side) had "touch-up" paint on the bold head and shoulder and also on the flat surface area. The paint was white, but flat compared to the other fender paint. Through the years I've owned numerous mustangs, I've never seen a touch-up like this. Wondering if those have taken delivery have noticed the same...or is this a one off?

Some of the panel gaps and tolerances are adjusted during final inspection. The bolts are backed out, panels adjusted, and then re-torqued. I suspect this is common across a good number of the vehicles. Probably better that it happen at the factory then having to have it addressed at the dealer or doing it yourself.

Hmmmm...I'm hoping that by the time mine is built it won't need as much manipulation as this particular unit needed!

Yeah me too. Looks like mine will be at the end of the model year so some of the kinks should be ironed out I would hope. It's a little discouraging with some of the panel alignment and paint issues I've read about. I'm really hoping for a perfect car and intend to make this a center piece of my collection.

Panel fit pretty poor on mine...outside of that and weight, am enjoying the ride!

It's a valid concern. That's like telling Z06 owners not to worry about the engines blowing up unless they've already bought one. People place different values on different aspects of the car when it's time to make a purchase decision.

Exactly Stanglife...I'm not new to the game, my Both my fox body and SN95 have better build quality than what I observed...this just seemed to be a rushed job to get it out of the factory. I would of expected this on pre production cars, not one a premium was paid for.

Did not realize we were paying a premium for fit and finish, I thought the premium was for performance

There is no excuse for proper fitting pannels in this day in age regardless of cost or performance..

Fox body car has better build quality, not even close. Pass whatever you're smoking.
