Does anyone know which speaker adapter rings would fit the base front door and rear door speakers?

I bought these:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cQ8RD0qqqG9/p_2064CS674/Kicker-40CS674.html

When I opened the door panel and tried to install today the 4 holes in the kciker speaker wouldn't fit on the door (I was going to drill the 4 holes)...

But what was happening was that speaker opening in the door was too big for the size of the speaker.

Does anyone know what hardware I need to install these in the door. Aside from a custom cut piece of MDF.

I just bought these for my upcoming install. Haven't received them yet so I can't tell you if they fit or not but I'm guessing they should. Worse case scenario I drill new holes but use these adapters anyways. I don't have access to a jigsaw to make my own and I don't want to use MDF because of moisture.

I was just on the phone for quite a while with crutchfield. They assured me it would fit. I ordered 4 of them as well.

They should work fine hopefully!

Moisture can be a problem... spray the mdf with rubberized undercoating to protect against that or use some cutting board material that you can get at Target or Home Depot...

Hey Pumxee, did these finally work out for you? I was thinking about ordering these as well as the 72-5602 cable harness (somebody already verified this here). I'm leasing the car and want to avoid drilling/cutting anything.
On the metra website the pictures show that there are two kind of plates opposed to the picture on crutchfield. There is a raised one which supposed to match the rear positions but also there is a flat one, are those like fit together? How this looks in the kit that you got? Isn't the height of the plate a problem in the front door? Normally the rear speaker is raised but not the front one. How many kits did you order?

Thanks

The adapters worked but I ad to cut the tabs that were coming inwards. I dont understand why metra made those. It made things more complicated.

I am going to be trying some wooden speaker adapters now.

Since the doors have a lot of moisture, I would definitely try HDPE (cutting board) over wood/mdf. It cuts as easily as wood, doesn't give off dust like mdf, and is already waterproof. This is if you are making your own...

Hi All,

I haven't replaced the speakers yet and won't for some time now, but I got the speaker adapters so here are a few pictures if you're interested.

Just something I learned using those rings on other cars, you might want to get some thin weather stripping or felt strips to put between them and the door. Sometimes (not always) they'll vibrate against the metal of the door if you crank up your stereo.
