Hey y’all,

I have a 2022 GT not pp car. Ever since I got it in December, I’ve noticed a sort of clicking sound when I get on the brakes.

It usually happens when I change directions and then get on the brakes. For example; when I pull in my drive way (forward) and then let the car roll back a bit, I’ll step on the brakes and hear the click. I won’t hear the click anymore unless I start rolling forward again and then go in reverse… it’s like it “resets” if that makes sense.

Anyways, I used to have a 2018 pp1 and it never did this. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and knew exactly what it was.

Thanks
Leo

If you had tried search first, you would have found threads covering this issue. (To be fair, some threads may be titled with the words "front end" or"noise".)

Anyway, I'll bet it is simply the brake pads shifting and knocking against the calipers. I had a helper slowly reverse direction in the driveway while I listened next to the car to discover the source. IOW it is normal.

Brake pads have a MM of slop in them so they don't jam up in the caliper when they get hot and grow. I suggest turning up the radio while backing up and beginning to move forward.
