Out of curiosity, are these kits just for cars equipped with magneride suspensions?
Controller obviously is, otherwise it would have nothing to control. They have coilover kits that right now seem to be GT350 only but you may want to check the price on them....

Here is a question I had with the last BMWs I had. They had BMW's version of magnaride and I replaced the springs with compatible units. The rates were no where close to what I'd want for track duty.
How high a rate can you go with if the car is equipped with magneride and one of these upgrades? I'd like to see dampers capable of handling 400 to 500 lb/in springs in the front.

jeezus, why?!?!? I can't imagine anything short of lapping Daytona banking with massive front aero would call for such a setup.

I would call up the controller guys and ask them what the viscosity range of the fluid is at various voltages and if it can be driven that high.

This is the beauty of MR - there's probably a huge range of "valving" that can be replicated electronically and if the point you need isn't in that range, an actual valve change should move the MR range to where it needs to be. Full disclosure - I have only the vaguest knowledge of how MR shocks actually work, but I'm pretty familiar with standard shocks.

I'm about 3/4 tempted to check out the new module, but will have to verify that the EBPP setup is the same as the GTPP. Probably not going to mess with this until after a few autoX events. Been a long time since I was on track, and I need some time in the car before I start changing things.

Has anyone actually bought and installed this upgrade?

If so, what are the real improvements or differences?

Which one - Ford Performance Magneride Handling Kit (yes, quite a few people including me) or the DSC Controller ? I highly doubt anyone has DSC on GT since it just came out. FP kit is springs, bars and calibration, no just software upgrade.

Sorry I guess I should have clarified. They seem to produce everything you need to convert to an adjustable suspension. That is my guess though as I'm unfamiliar what is upstream of the controller. Downstream would be shocks and their respective harnesses.

Oh - I get your question now - disclaimer - I know very little about it, but the answer I believe is yes - upstream is VDM module (Vehicle Dynamic Suspension) - Magneride has whole bunch of sensors (plastic strut / shock movement / displacement levers for example that fairly well visible from the outside) it gets data from to determine real time damping - controller is plug&play per DSC so just shocks + controller won't work (you'll have to run harnesses to the shocks + retrofit sensors / whatever else there is.

The DSC unit sounds amazing in principle, fully understand the attraction. If the very reasonable questions about its functionality keep coming we might squeeze some data from them or someone who really knows that they're doing might independently validate it. The DSC website doesn't go into much detail (understand it's a new product) other than to say it's a good thing and will improve your car. It'd be nice to know what it offers as well as its limitations eg user options for adjustment (range, compression and/or rebound), if it's oriented to DD or Track, and whether there's any baseline guidance for spring rates and application.

No matter the type of adjustable suspension you have to understand it's characteristics and know, or be able to find out, how to use them in terms of adjustment vs effect.

Ohhh my interesting indeed. I have the springs already installed. Wonder if it is possible to get the software separately and just add the swaybars
I have the springs and bars... installed before they offered the VDM upgrade. Looking for just the VDM... anyone know where I can get it?
