Hello; The last few weeks I have been watching Indy car races. I accidently must have set my TV box to record all the races. This last race was a city street course. Before that a short oval. A thing is the races were fun to watch. The cars were contesting each other in corners pretty much all the time. No follow the leader lap after lap and wait for a pit stop strategy as in F1.
I began to see one reason being the protection of body work around the tires. They can bang and lean on each other and get away with it. Also do not think the stewards get involved.
Another thing is the cars can follow each other closely for a long time unlike in F1. not sure about why that is possible.

Anyway I found the racing enjoyable and began to compare with F1. Lots of ongoing excitement.

The indy cars do look to be pretty much cookie cutter sorts. I do not know the drivers anymore.
There is a certain quality to the races, it does seem like anyone could win on any given day but it’s the lack of technical freedom that bothers me. It’s almost like a lower one make series where teams can change setup but that’s about it. Not enough freedom for imagination. I quite like watching Indycar but F1 is still top.

Hello; regarding Spa. I see the start is become debated. Not able to tag an underhanded reason for the rolling start but it did favor the McLarens. Did not do much for Lando after all but he did not have to start on the wetter side of the track.

Yeah, should have had a standing start when they first went out to trundle around. Also should have gone out 30 minutes earlier than they did. Left it too late.

Lots of experience, not sure about how quick they will be, both have struggled at teams with slightly better drivers and how Cadillac will perform might put them at the tail of the grid. But glad they’ve both found a path back into the sport (for now).

Hello; Not too much to digest from yesterday's race. As has become expected the McLarens are the cream of the crop regarding running pace. Of course, Max can wring out an impressive lap or two from the RB, but he is soon left fading away.
I was hoping for more wheel-to-wheel dueling between the McLarens. Too bad that did not happen.
So far, I have not looked at the post races various penalties handed out. Maybe later.

I'm glad that Sparco's check finally arrived. At the prior race, the Sparco lettering on Max's epaulettes had been black sharpied out. Or maybe the safety crew put their feet down and said they wouldn't pull him from his car if it meant their gloves would be stained.

Hello; Afraid you lost me on this. I have no idea what Sparco is.

Sparco make safety systems for motorsports, seats harnesses helmets etc. Been around many many years, it was all the rage when I started driving in the mid 90s to have Sparco harness pads on your seat belt. They were super cool.

Gutted for Lando. That engine failure could be the turning point for the season. I don't think he was going to be able to overtake Oscar anyway but with Oscar driving so well I can't see a way back.
Congrats to Isack for his first podium, great drive and very impressive from the RB team. And a great performance from Max again, out performing his car again. Dreadful luck for Ferrari, hope for better at Monza.
