Shouldn’t have taken this long or had to go like this. It also shouldn’t have had to be brought up on Capital Hill on anti-trust grounds. I give major kuldo’s to GM telling F1 to pound sand in trying to get them(GM) to cut ties with Andretti.

Formula 1 has reached an 'agreement in principle' with American car giant General Motors for its Cadillac brand to join the F1 grid as a new 11th team from 2026.

F1 said that it is "pleased to move forward with this application process and will provide further updates in due course".

US car giant General Motors has reached an agreement in principle to enter Formula 1 in 2026 with its Cadillac brand.

A statement on Monday said that GM and its partner, the US group TWG Global, had committed to name a new team after GM's luxury Cadillac brand and to build its own engine "at a later time".

F1 said the application process would "move forward".

Hello; An odd race loaded with unforced errors. I chuckled at one race commentators remark about Lewis jumping the start. Something like he only jumped a little then paused. Translation - it is Lewis so ought to be OK. I get it we have Lewis fans on this site. The other talking head, maybe Jensen Button, had to correct him.
The mirror thing ought to get somebody fired. That said I wonder if no one told Botas (sp) about the mirror.
Norris made two unforced errors. He had the car to challenge for the lead.
I wonder about Lewis wanting to park the car. Sure, he had bad luck with a flat and a penalty. But to want to just stop seems an odd reaction. Maybe MB will put someone else in the seat for the last race??

Driver of the day for sure is Zhou, so happy for him and Stake.

Wow on not calling a SC with debris just off the racing line in the passing zone. What were they going to do leave it yellow there rest of the race?

Max showed his smarts again with lifting just enough to appease the rules but not enough to lose him any speed.

Lando, wow what a penalty. I'll just keep my mouth shut but I thought it to be a bit harsh.

Lewis, when he has a bad day.... that saying when it rains it pours....

Ocon out at Alpine

Perez looks to be out after this weekend :cwl:

A detailed read, but it explains circulating proposals which will consolidate and strengthen the power of FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/articles/cy89xevxp1jo

"The changes to the statutes, which have been seen by BBC Sport, remove the ability of the compliance officer to report to the audit committee and remove the audit committee's ability to investigate any matter unless asked by the president of the senate.

And they would mean the FIA president controlled the appointment of the head of the ethics committee, and remove the role of the senate and compliance officer in its operations."

"The move to change the FIA statutes comes at the end of a tumultuous year at the body, which has seen the departure of senior staff such as its sporting director, F1 technical director, chief executive officer, digital director, head of commercial legal affairs, governance and regulatory director, race director, compliance officer, a leading steward and deputy steward, the head of the women in motorsport commission, secretary general of mobility and director of communications, as well as the three most senior HR staff."

https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/1...hanges-after-mohammed-ben-sulayem-controversy

"Changes would mean the FIA ethics committee would now only carry out an initial assessment to determine whether an in-depth investigation is necessary. It would be the FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem and the president of the senate, Carmelo Sanz De Barros, who ultimately decide to take further action on any ethics complaints."

I wouldn’t trust that guy as far as I could throw him. Not a fan of the FIA at all, about as dirty as Ecclestone was. The list is unfortunately long and memoreable with their shananigans. Last race and the mirror is a drop in the bucket. We’ll be able to tell has him in their pocket by who endorses this nonsense.

I miss Max Mosley and his Gestapo S&M parties.

Anyone else impressed with Russel's brilliant move to start a to the death feud with Max?

Now he's safe from having Max ever becoming his teammate at Mercedes. Toto would never risk one of them killing the other on or off track during a season.

Funny you bring that up. My buddy and I were talking about that very scenario today. One thing I’ve never gotten from Max is lack of forthright or him bsing. Always has come off to me as straight forward and blunt. Is what it is. Wolf looked like a hurt little princess with his shot at Horner. Wolf is about as two faced as they come. That guy was a back door sancho in another life.

When? Rookie Antonelli will be in 2025 with options for longer. I'm not expecting much.
